Hi Linda
I've been on esters rather than L-Ascorbic now for about a month as a little experiment. First I was sampling the latest and much praised Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate and have to say I notice no improvements whatsoever. I'm still using it daily in case.
Now I've added ye olde MAP to my daily routine and I've begun to see some brightening.
I tried some C-ester products before; a mix of 2 or 3 and some are OK and others don't seem to do a damn thing.
I'm certainly not finding they have as much impact as any L-Ascorbic serums. |

My understanding is Ester C's are not as acidic and are easier on the stomach. Supposedly they are more effective too. I researched this many years ago and then the claims were that Ester C's were far superior to absorbic acid. Not sure if that's true but I have been on high doses for a loooooong time without any stomach problems. |

Thank you for the response Molly and Mountaingirl. I was trying to avoid mail order, but the only store bought I've been able to find is the Ester-C. I take the oral Ester-c myself and it has not been a problem, guess I'll give the creams a try. I did read somewhere last night that the Ester-C does not break down as fast when exposed to air and light; that in itself is a good thing so the product will last longer.
Thanks again

I prefer oral Easter C to L Ascorbic C for it is not so acidic. |
