My lips are super chapped from wind, cold, and using some face care products like AHAs. Tried everything from Burt's Bees to scrubs, but still chapped. Also, can you recommend a good lipstick for chapped lips. I do not like to use gloss very much during the day--I like the matte look. |

Not a lipstick, but you might want to go to the DIY section for a discussion on the new Candy's Lip Treatment. It's supposed to be really good for chapped lips according to her testers.
Also I believe Carekate sells something for lips that really help, too. The discussion about her lip plumper and treament is also in the DIY section. |

How about using vaseline mixed with MMU eyeshadows? I've tried this trick with Alima and Lily Lolo eyeshadows and they seem to work rather well when I have chapped lips...work much better than a moisturizing lipstick. But I think the best thing to do is exfoliate your lips well to get rid of flakies and moisturize them well before applying lipstick. |

I wouldn't try vaseline.. I was using that for 1 whole month and it made my lips sooo dry and wrinkly!! Not moisturizing at all.. when it's on it looks moisturizing, but without my lips are sooo chapped and look like a prune!! I'm using lips2kiss right now and the kit has tremendously changed my lips!! They are soo soft and hydrated now. Maybe you should try Candy's new lip treatment? I'm planning to get it once I'm out of my lips2kiss stuff. If you're desperate, you can try putting oils on your lips. |

I am going to try your suggestions. I tried Carekate's lip scrub and treatment, but still, chapped lips rule. Might give Candy's a try. Thanks all! |

Vichy's lip balm was one of the rare few balms that did help for my lips and it helps that it's not a heavy weighty balm. Perhaps you can try that?
Alternatively, use sweet almond oil or Vit. E oil directly on your lips. However be warned that if you have long hair, be prepared to have hair stuck to your lip oil from time to time ![Sad](images/smiles/sad.gif) |

Anything with petrolatum or mineral oil will dry your lips out.
I'd buff daily, very lightly with a scrub or micro-abrasion cloth to get off dead skin. Then use something like avocado oil, let that absorb and add some vegetable glycerin, throughout the day.
I also like Alba flavored lip balms, you can get them at Whole Foods. |

hi, divalovesmusic.
I think you can try simply putting some honey on your lips overnight. It works for me.
Just remember not to lick your lips when slpeeing ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |

Have you tried Rosebud Salve lip balm? This works for my super chapped lips when I took Accutane. The key is to apply a thick layer before going to bed. The next morning, the dead skin can be easily removed with a wet cloth. Vaseline and EA 8 hours cream work similarly, but Rosebud Salve is more longlasting. |

I love Carmex when my lips are feeling dry. I have a mint one in a tube now; I'll layer it with my lipsticks.
Victoria's Secret makes a nice sheer lipstick that is moisturizing, that would be good for chapped lips. |

I know, Carmex is the best! I forgot to mention the one in the tube that I have is also spf 30, so it protects your lips as well. |

My favourite lip balms are Weleda's Everon lip balm and Dr Hauschka's lip care stick as well as the balm in the jar. I use a Dr H Novum lipstick and find it really moisturizes my lips well. Feels great on and smells nice too. I also find Jane Iredale's lip gloss to be very moisturizing. I'm wanting to try their lipsticks as well as I was quite impressed with the lip gloss. |

Hi!
I use squalane on my lips and have had fabulous results with it.
I purchase mine at Ice Elements, which comes with a dropper and I use it right out of the bottle... however squalane can be purchased at many places and could be put into a roller ball container for convenience. I would just suggest that you purchase 100% vegetable derived squalane.
Take care.

Bosoxy,
I just got my squalane oil from IE. It's awesome cause it sinks right in.
Do you know the best place to buy rollerball tubes? TIA. |

Lisey,
I wish I could help here, but I really have no idea. I bet if you made a post you would have at least a half a dozen responses from those that purchase containers for their DIY projects.
Take care.

I usually use Burt's Bees, but when my lips get really bad, I've been trying Eucerin Aquaphor and it actually works quite well. |

Eek - Carmex really isn't good for lip moisturization. It's meant to be used for cold sores - so it dries. It will actually make your lips peel more...
I know a lot of people like Aquaphor & it's very moisturizing. |

Lisey, for me, all pure oil works on my lips, but the most that I found the most hydrating is macadamia oil.
Re: the tube, I saw a picture of a tube on one of Carrie's posts b/c she had been looking for a tube to use for her lip balm stuff that would be easy to carry around in your purse. Now I can't remember what that thread was all about though. ![Sad](images/smiles/sad.gif) |

As far as my lips go, the only lip balm product I can use is Vaseline Intensive Therapy lip balm. My lips won't tolerate chapstick, and I never tried Carmex, but if Kim said it's drying, then I'd listen to her. |
