Apparently not all lavender smells the same. I am looking for a lavender EO that is sweeter smelling. If you have ever smelled Jason's bodywash that is NOT the lavender I smell I a looking for. I have smelled other lavender that smell much sweeter (can't think of a better word) but I can't find a EO that doesn't smell like the Jason's. I have smelled hydrosols that smell like what I am looking for. Lol I hope this makes sense to someone |

Hi world of mirth,
I know what you mean, but imo lavendar doesn't have a sweet smell. could you possibly have smelled a lavendar blend?

I never had Lavender EO that would have a sweet smell. I am using it for about 7-8 years (different brand names). |

Hi world of mirth,
That's ok. There are soooo many beautiful smelling essential oils out there for you to choose from. I thought i would like lavendar initially since it is a very popular EO but i realize i just don't . I have 2 EOs at the moment, sweet orange and lime, which are beautiful scents, i am very fond of citrus smells, but want to expand to more floral scents. Currently, i am loving the smell of blue tansy EO. I am sure you will find one or more that you love.

Lavender oil is one of the most spiked and stretched oils out there because of its popularity therefore, you will find a variation in scent, quality and of course, price. The scent and quality of lavender is dependant on the region, location and geography of where it is grown. My favourite lavender oil comes from Provence, France or the English Highlands. Make sure you are buying your oil from a reputable distributor and that it is organic. This way you can rest assured that your lavender oil has not been blended with other types of lavender, lavandin or worst of all synthetic oils. |

world of mirth,
I would try the wild lavender from Ananda Apothercary on the internet. I have the high altitude lavender and the spike lavender, and I can tell you that the spike lavender is more medicinal smelling. From the description, it sounds like the wild lavender is the sweetest smelling. I'd give them a call to make sure. I've ordered from here before and have been happy with their customer service and speedy delivery. |
