My face is going crazy! I'm 43, fair haired, fair skinned. At my age I expect to see signs of age, but the lines suddenly seem more apparent like I'm excessively dry - I'm talking over the last month or so - in the sunlight I look like an old newspaper. On top of it I'm suffering from breakouts here-and-there and uneven texture (I seem bumpy). I have very sensitive skin, so if I attack the dryness I break out, if I treat the acne I shrivel. I've tried DIY vit-C serum using glycerin - broke out, oil cleansing - dried up & broke out. I use Corium 21 to moisturize - it's the only thing that doesn't make me break out, but it's not moisturizing enough. And every eye cream I've tried causes little white bumps under my lower lids... I just don't know where to go from here - I'm tired of spending over & over for products that only seem to make things worse. |

You may benefit from using Retin A - it helps with both acne and aging. Are you able to go to a dermatologist for a prescription? If you want to experiment on your own, many forum members buy their Retin A from overseas pharmacies without a prescription from medsmex.com or inhousepharmacy.com. Do a search on the forum for Retin A to learn more about it. |

I feel for you DLK. I recommend you try pearl cream. It should help contain the breakout and it seems to hydrate my skin well. My complexion has got bright since I started on it. I made the pearl cream myself. Not the best, but the only thing available to me right now. I used to buy from a couple sellers who DIY and then sell it, but it was inconsistent from batch to batch. I got frustrated. I actually have stopped using the cream for a while because I didn't want to repurchase and was too lazy to buy ingredients to make the cream myself. Lo and behold I found my sister actually got all the ingredients and a recipe, too. Anyway you should either DIY the pearl cream or you can buy it from whoever is selling it. I'm sure you can google pearl cream to find a place that sells it. |

Thanks for the advise - I've tried retin-a in the past & it really peeled - I know it's supposed to, but it was a mess. As for the pearl cream, can I get pearl powder at a health food store like Mother's? Also, I've looked around and the only recipe I found included oat beta glucans - what is that & where do I find it? |

DLK, beta glucans can come from oat, it is an immune booster and also calms the skin. It might be good for you. |
