Okay so this is my main issue. I have mild acne. I pretty much eat right, and do everything else necessary. I don't overwash and take my vitamins and what not.
I've been told cardio helps out with improving skin quality. But I've also heard that it can make it worse from the sweat etc.
So do you think it can help reduce acne, improve skin... or make it worse?
How has it for you? |

I think it helps with the blood circulation, but I don't think it improves your acne condition because I have a friend who works out constantly, but still has a problem with acne. She has to use the steam room to get rid of her acne. |

In my opinion, it does help. BUT, you have to be sure that your skin is clean before you exercise. You don't want your pores open and still have makeup on your face. And then cleansing afterwards is important too. |

Not sure if xxndnromeoxx has to worry about makeup or not but I usually wash my face regardless before I work out.
In terms of women, I'm always shocked to see these chicks work out in full makeup. I've actually seen some gals PUT ON makeup before heading out to the gym floor.
Nothing like foundation dripping down your face after using the stair master!
When I do cardio, my face gets better. Perhaps it is a combination of factors: reduced stress, circulation, clearing out my pores, drinking more water...I don't know exactly.
But even if it made me break out, I wouldn't stop doing it...it's too important and the ONLY way to get rid of tummy pudge in an effective manner is to run/cardio exercise. 2007 is the year to rid myself of my tummy pudge. The time has come! |

Unfortunately, my main skin issue is aging, not mild acne (that was many years ago!), but I absolutely believe that cardio exercise is a basic element of skin/body/mind health. All the pricey effective skin care in the world is less effective if one is not getting adequate sleep, eating well and exercising, IMO.I am 47 and try to do 1 hour a day of fairly intense cardio===walking uphill, jogging or airdyne bicycle. My skin definitely benefits! Sweats out toxins, good oxygen flow, etc. |

I'm not sure if exercise helps with acne, but I think in theory it should. When you sweat, it's your skin's way of purifying your body and getting rid of toxins through the pores on your skin. Besides, my skin always look all glowy and great after exercise. I agree with previous comments that no makeup should be worn prior to exercise and the face should be cleaned throughly after exercise, presumably when you shower |

Same here. I just feel and look healthier when I am getting enough exercise.
Tummy pudge be-gone!

Not sure if cardio helps with acne, but it does give my skin a glow; I always try and workout before a party. |

It helps all around, but you just need to make sure your face is clean before and after. |

I've worked out pretty hard my entire life, however the past 4 months or so I haven't been to the gym at all. Lately I noticed my skin has been looking not so good, but I hadn't drawn a connection to not working out.
Well I've been back in the gym the past two days and guess what? My skin is looking fabulous again |
