We all know kids say the darndest things. And mine, well - he has his own chapter....
Last fall my then 4 yr old Jake had gone on a field trip with his Pre-K class to a farm. They had the usual, petting zoo, hay rides - you get the picture.
I pick Jake up after school and he comes charging up to me all excited.
Mom! Mom! I got to milk a cow!!!
*mom of course forgetting how cool this is to a little boy who has never even SEEN a cow other than at the zoo*
You did Jake? How do you milk a cow?
Rolling his eyes at me and looking quite exasperated You just grab it's weiner and pull!!
*Yes - at this point mom about falls over in the school parking lot having laughing fits, tears running down her face and the other parents saying, 'see I told ya she was weird'.* Once I finally composed myself I did explain that it was udder and not a weiner, but BOY - what a story that's gonna be to tell at his wedding! |

Too funny Candy
I have been known to sit in the classroom reading my kids stuff with tears running down my face. So embarrassing when you are alone & the other parents are backing slowly out of the room. |

You gotta just treasure those memories! How cute is HE!!!!! Yes, embarass the crap out of him when he gets older and make sure you tell his wife-to-be....!!!
Great story - Reader's Digest material - but do they allow the word "wiener" in there?
How 'bout "Kid's Say the Darndest Things" in Women's World....
That story should be published!

I totally agree, Maria! This would be perfect for any of the publications you mentioned. And if Reader's Digest can't deal with the word "weiner" ...well, their loss on not publishing such a cute story!!

It's required. I had to sign off on it in the parent handbook they gave me at the hospital when he was born. 'Embarrassing your children', chapter 12 I believe..... Or maybe it was under 'Ensuring therapy in young adulthood' can't quite recall off hand

I can just see his girlfriends' faces now.
And wait until you tell them it was in the instruction book. |
