In case you wanted to order a sample size of this but it was out of stock before, I just checkedwww.psfskincare.com and they now have it back in stock. I tried to order the sample a couple of times and both times they were out.

Also do you use this serum in lieu of Vit C serum?

Hi bkkgirl - When this product was introduced, Darren of PSF said no, it wouldn't replace a C serum. After sampling it, I bought a full size but had trouble with it over the winter -- the high HA content caused dryness for me. Now that there's a lot more humidity in the air, I use it but in addition to -- not as a replacement for -- SkinCeuticals CE+Ferulic. Since the CE+F is an oilier serum, I usually use the Berry Beneficial at times when I'm more particular how my face looks when made up -- and want to keep the oilies at bay.

Thanks, m.april. I somehow thought it would replace the C serum. How do you like using the Berry Beneficial Serum minus the dryness it caused in the winter? What does it do for you? Does it lighten sunspots?

Using SC CE+Ferulic twice a day several times a week has lightened my freckles. I tried SC Phyto+ (which is supposed to help with pigmentation) for a while but didn't like the texture. So I didn't use it long enough to give it a chance. I don't want to use hydroquinone, although it seems to be very effective at lightening pigmentation and is part of the Obagi system as well as other lightening products. Arbutin and kojic acid (the active in Phyto+) are supposed to help with pigment problems too. Other forms of C may help too, like MAP. I'm just now starting NIA24 Skin Strengthening Complex (with a niacin ester, myristyl nicotinate as the active ingredient) which claims to fade freckles. Way too soon to tell yet, though. My freckles aren't really that bad but I nevertheless want to at least KEEP them that way, if not fade them even more.

I use Berry Beneficial just as extra anti-oxidant (therefore anti-aging) insurance, but I dont think it's intended to fade pigmentation. I'm not sure yet that I'll repurchase, frankly. Anti-oxidants aren't the types of products that generally create an immediate WOW. The SC CE+Ferulic has served me well and it's just too hard to juggle so many topicals. If I were you, I'd still try a sample of the Berry Beneficial -- everyone's skin and environment is different. Like I said, I only had trouble with it when the winter air was too dry. The high HA content gives a nice smooth appearance to the skin otherwise. Good luck!

Darren, if I remember rightly, also said he'd had CP users in mind when developing this. Obviously, with CPs you can't use C so he saw this as a replacement in that case.

I asked about comparing it with C as an anti-oxidant and I was given a good answer by someone else; really you're comparing apples and pears.

So, you can use it with C or without C, but I do think C has extra benefits in terms of stimulating collagen production which is not proven with the BB.

I remembered when Darren first introduced this serum he mentioned it does not contain Vit-C. It's good for people who wants to use CP and an anti-oxidant sreum.

Hopefully I'm not having a senior's moment.

*edited later* Molly, We must be typing at the same time and you beat me!!!

If I ever get the gumption to go over to CP's, I know I'll never be able to do the 12 hr spread. It'll have to be all CPs all the time. I'm happy a product like this exists.
