I've tried 2 colors of the liquid Jane Iredale foundation and it is just not working. The lady that does my micro thinks it would be better for my skin than the BE i'm using now but I just cant see how people like this stuff. Is there a trick to putting it on? I've used a sponge/brush and fingers and it seems to sink in before I can spread it. Then when I try to rub it in it just flakes off. Any suggestions. I'm still trying to find a color match too...I'm NW30 or fairly light BE. |

Hi Olivia,
First of all make sure your are well moisturised.
My beauty therapist told me to put a small amount in the palm of my hand ,then rub between my hands to "warm it up" and then press it onto my face rather than spread it like you would a normal foundation(does that make sense)!!!
I actually don't use it as i don't like the feel of the foundation. I wanted to use the powder but it irritates my skin.
Sorry can't help with the colour I'm afraid. |

Thank you...this worked. My microderm lady is trying to have me use this instead of a moisturizer in the am. Its a NO-GO...I need way more moisture than using this alone.
Thanks for the tips...it does go on really well and the coverage is nice too! |

I'm really pleased it worked for you.
I can't imagine not using moisturiser,my face would be tight all day!
Did you get the colour sorted out?
I bought one that was way too dark(the colour i had for my wedding the year before)
Stupidly i just orderd the same colour and used it quite a lot before i realised it was too dark
I might try again but want to try loose powder first.
Anyway i'll stop waffling(bad habit).
Again ,glad it worked for you |

I think I have the right color now...its a bit light but it will do...I can always use a bronzer to even it out. I dont know if I'm going to buy the full size though (working with samples right now). I'm not 100% sold. Is it your fav?
I tried to use just this stuff (no moisturizer) and I couldnt even talk right bc my face would crack. It was bad. |

It's the first mineral make up i've used, and i only bought it because i loved how they did it for my wedding.
It's not my fav i'm still searching at the mo.
I wanted to like it but although i knew how to apply it(in theory anyway) my skin still felt very tight and as though i had a ton of make up on. I was a bit heavy handed though!
This is going to sound stupid but i'd rather have powder mmu so that my hands don't get messy just haven't found which one yet.
Waiting of alima, lilylolo and lumiere samples and it's killing me!
I might try it again if the powder is to drying( i have dry and dehydrated skin).
If your not 100% then i would try something else or at least ask you micro lady if she could reccomend some other brand. If she just want you to have mineral make up there are loads out there.
What is micro by the way? I only have waxing and the odd facial at my salon
There are so many products and treatments and i've never heard of them!
This site could be an expensive find!!!!!!!!!! |

This site is killer on the pocket book but it does help to know what has worked for people and what hasnt...it helps me cut down on my purchases.
By "micro" I mean microdermabrasion. It is a fantastic procedure. There are many sites with info on the internet or here if you do a search. It is well worth the money. It has helped my skin more than any product out there.
I'm happy with BE and have purchased it a couple of times now. I think my lady was trying to cut down on the steps I go through in the am bc she is really big on not touching your face and she thinks that applying makeup with brushes (as I do with my BE powder) is just introducing too much bacteria onto your face. She says that even if you keep them clean they still can be a source of breakouts bc germs live in them naturally. I'm sure her point is valid so I'd like to find a liquid mineral makeup.
I've used Juice tinted moisturizer and when I use it alone it feels very drying. Its ok for summer but in the winter my skin freaks.
Let me know how you like those samples...I'm curious. |

Where did you get samples of JI liquid? Was it off of a site?
Only samples I have found on-line have been for the powders.... |

The place I get my facials sells it so she made up a couple of samples for me. |

I started off using BE mmu after my daughter was recommended it by her laser technician (she had quite a bad skin). It was ok but the colour not quite right so I switched to Jane Iredale liquid foundation to start with but still the colour wasn't quite right and I have an oily skin which I found didn't quite suit. The texture was a bit strange too.
I've now switched to the pressed powder (Azazing Base) and it is fantastic! When you first put it on (with a brush) you think you haven't made any difference but I find after a few minutes it works with your skin and does provide good coverage without being too heavy. I use Golden Glow and I'd say my skin colour would normally be about a medium beige shade. I'm convinced this is the foundation for me after many years of expensive and dissatisfied purchases.
It's just so easy and quick which is always a good thing. Even though I have an oily skin I would never go without a moisturiser though as it provides a sealant to protect your pores. Bit like primer when painting I guess |

Hi Olivia,
I've had a thought(rare!)
Maybe try mixing the Jane liquid with your moisturiser so your only appliying stuff to your face once. Can't remember if my therapist has told me that, have read it on here or have made it up.
Also there is a spray make up which has good reviews on here called SKII airtouch.|You wouldn't have to touch your face at all. It's very expensive though- in the uk anyway £85. |
