Here's the story of a very sick little boy - wishing to break the world record.
http://shaneswish.com/
As so many bogus things like this fly around the 'net I checked it out with Snopes.com - it's legit.

Little guy doesn't seem alot to look forward to, the least we could all do is spend the $1.50 for the card & postage. I just filled mine out & will be heading to the post office this afternoon. |

Thank you for starting this Candy. This little boy touched our hearts too. He has been on our local news several times. We have sent him cards and many of the local schools and athletes and T.V's Dr. Phil too. Our troops from overseas sent him an autographed Canadian flag. He has so much strength and courage. I pray he wins this battle. He's an amazing little boy.
Here's another link with cards you can print out

Thanks for sharing his with us, Candy. One of my daughter's friends is dying of kidney cancer (6 yrs) and the sister of a boy on my son's baseball team (9 years) has been fighting leukemia for quite a long time. I have seen how incredibly strong children with these illness can be. If a simple card can bring him joy, I will gladly add mine to help him reach his goal. |

I am definitely going to send a card as well. I forwarded the link onto my friends as well and asked them to pass it along. I really hope he makes his goal! |

I work for a large company and they have a box set up that we can put cards in, so of course we did. We have also been watching the story on the local news. You should have seen the boxes and boxes of cards in their garage. I hope he breaks the record, and I'm sure with all the kind hearted people out there, he will. |

Diana, what a wonderful thing your company did by setting up a box for the cards. I saw the same footage of the boxes in the garage. It was amazing. I hope he gets his wish. He is such a sweet little boy. |

Both my boyfriend and I both sent a card and I told my family and friends to send as well (I know for sure my mom did). I pray that he'll be able to overcome his illness. His birthday is in only a few days, so still time to send a card. |

Thanks for posting this up. I am going to get a card to send it out to him and pass the message on. He's so young and it's heartbreaking when anyone, especially kids, have to go through something so painful. |

Today is his birthday.
I heard he has received over 2 million birthday cards. He's such a brave, sweet boy. |

I was wondering how his goal had turned out. I think he'd hoped for 350 million cards? Can that be right? That's alot! But if he got 2 millions, that's an amazing number as well! I hope they all helped lift his spirits. |

On the 11:00 pm news last night the local radio station announced the number of cards he received is actually closer to 5 million. His Mom said everytime he opens a card he forgets his pain. It brought tears to my eyes. He's such a sweet, brave boy. |
