Can anyone recommend a natural/organic toothpaste that does a good job of whitening teeth and removing stains caused by coffee, tea, red wine, etc.?
I'd been using Burt's Bees Lavendar Mint paste (and loving it), but I just found out it was discontinued. I've also used Weleda's salt toothpaste. I thought it did a great job of leaving me with clean teeth and fresh breath, but over time it seemed as though my teeth weren't looking quite as white.
Thanks much for any recommendations! |

I use Weleda's salt toothpaste and quite like it but you're right it doesn't really "whiten" teeth. I've tried lots of toothpastes (even the regular so called whitening kind) and never noticed a difference so I just stuck with my natural toothpastes which I like best. I use the salt one in the morning and the herb gel for sensitive gums one at night. I sometimes make a paste out of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda and add it to this teeth whitening mould and keep that in my mouth for a few minutes which really helps whiten and brighten my teeth. I wouldn't suggest doing it often though because it can harm your teeth, but with the occasional treatment you should see some improvement. |

Tom's of Main whitening toothpaste is good, Ive used it for several years now. Of course I do use Crest whitestrips about once a year too. |

Thanks for the suggestions!
I like the DIY aspect of the baking soda/peroxide treatment, and the Tom's would be a good option for traveling and at work, etc. |

I am a big fan of Tom's of Maine, and not just because he is an alumnus of my school. All of his toothpastes work really well and taste great. My favorite is fennel because it tastes like licorice but the whitening one (can't remember the flavor) works as well for me as "regular" toothpastes regardless of how many cups of tea I drink. |
