Hi everyone. I have been getting these red/purple lumps on my legs about 1/4 of an inch wide. My doctor said they were cysts probably from shaving and removed one. It was tested and was non-cancerous, but I have since gotten 4 more. They are round and raised and unattractive in shorts. My doctor says it is probably from shaving and won't remove them anyone more which is fine because he tried to burn one off and it didn't go away and is even redder with a scar from the burn, and the one removed now is red with a scar and uglier than when they were there. Does anyone know what these are and how to get rid of them?
Thanks |

I would think your Dr. knows what he is talking about since he removed one and had it tested. But if you really want them off and he won't do it find a new Dr. and see what he says. I assume they aren't painful? |

Has your doc suggested something to help exfoliate your skin? I find that shaving my legs goes much more smoothly when I put on Tend Skin or Clinique 4 toner. Both are high in salacylic acid, which helps keep the skin exfoliated. If the skin can't exfoliate, the hair that is trying to grow gets ingrown and causes bumps and lumps. I don't know if the bumps I am referring to are what you have, but maybe this routine would work for you in preventing them. |

Doctor had no opinions or answers, he just doesn't want to remove them anymore. I use an exfoliator on my legs and try to shave only with an electric now, but I have since received a new one. It is difficult to see another doctor, live in a small town and the doctors are not taking new patients. Do not know if anyone else has experienced this.
It sucks! |

maybe try something like the DDF glycolic body lotion, or make your own? what exfoliant are you using? I guess your doctor is just saying you have an ingrown hair problem...but kind of weird that it's a new phenomenon for you |
