Just heard on Fox News a 7.8 earthquake hit Solomon Islands in the Pacific ocean just north of Australia. They're watching for a tsunami that could occur because of this earthquake.
Has anyone else heard about this?
ETA: Hope all our Aussie and NZ EDS friends are ok.

Yes, so sad. So far 8 reported dead, and it washed away 2 villages.
ETA: Just heard on Fox News that of the 8 reported dead, 6 were children. waaaaahhhhhhhhh |

Fortunately the tsunami alert that they put on the coast of Australia and Hawaii did not amount to anything. |

Didn't even know about this until I watched the news tonight.
Nothing occurred in Sydney, except for the cancellation of ferries. Poor ferry passengers; if it isn't one thing, it is another. |
