Wow, that's the longest product name! hehehe
Beauty.com is giving away a free deluxe sample of this with any beauty.com purchase. So I was wondering who has tried this cream, and what do you think of it? Please tell! |

I used this moiturizer. I almost finish my 2nd tube. I liked it a lot, until I got Estee Lauder Time zone.
The PTS moisturizer has the SPF 30, but I feel like it's not enough if you are using retin A because Retin A cause skin exfoliation, thus exposing your "younger skin" that needs more protection than SFP30, specially it's chemical sun protection, not physical one.
This PTR moiturizer is good for spring and summer but not enough moisturizer for the harsh winter weather. So, I think if you are interested in it, it's a good time to buy now since the winter is over.
Estee Lauder Time zone has the "new" ingredience "sirtuin", a protein that is supposed to literally repair fine lines and wrinkles. I used it with some physical sun screen SPF 55 and so far it works really well for me. |

Just wondering is there any difference between sunblock and sunscreen?
PTR Ultra-light Oil-free sunblock sunvSPF30 and PTR Uber-dry sunscreen SPF30, which one is better? |

What are the active ingredients in these two? |

Hi Bira,

Hi vinning,
I don't like the ingredient list for either one because it got avobenzone.
Quote: |
Avobenzone was patented in 1973 and was approved in the EU in 1978. It was approved by the FDA in 1988. Its use is approved world wide.
Avobenzone has been shown to degrade significantly in light, resulting in less protection over time.[2][3][4] The UV-A light in a day of sunlight in a temperate climate is sufficient to break down most of the compound. This degradation can be reduced by using a photostabilizer, like octocrylene. Other photostabilizers include:
4-Methylbenzylidene camphor (USAN Enzacamene)
Tinosorb S (USAN Bemotrizinol, INCI Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine)
Tinosorb M (USAN Bisoctrizole, INCI Methylene Bis-Benzotriazolyl Tetramethylbutylphenol)
Butyloctyl Salicylate (Tradename HallBrite BHB - [1])
Hexadecyl Benzoate
Butyloctyl Benzoate
Mexoryl SX (USAN Ecamsule, INCI Terephthalylidene Dicamphor Sulfonic Acid)
Corapan TQ (INCI Diethylhexyl 2,6-Naphthalate)[5]
Parsol SLX (INCI Polysilicone-15)[6]
Oxynex ST (INCI Diethylhexyl Syringylidene Malonate)[7]
Polycrylene (INCI Polyester- [8]
Complexing avobenzone with cyclodextrins may also increase its photostability.[9]
According to some studies, "the most effective sunscreens contain avobenzone and titanium dioxide." [10]
[11] Avobenzone can degrade faster in light in combination with mineral UV absorbers like zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, though with the right coating of the mineral particles this reaction can be reduced.[12] A manganese doped titanium dioxide may be better than undoped titanium dioxide to improve avobenzone's stability. |

Hi Bira,
Thanks for the analysis. But i just bought them, in fact its is both of them! I guess that explained why the Max-defence moisturizer spf30 is more expensive if compared to the the sunblock using the avobenzone as its active ingreadient!
My previous sunblock Dermalogical's oil-free matte sunblock spf 30 is using titanium dioxide instead of avobenzone. |
