As titled. Is it true? Most physical sunblocks contain Zinc Oxide & Titanium Dioxide as the active ingredients. It seems no matter how high their % is, the PPD is still around 8-10. Correct me if I'm wrong ![Confused](images/smiles/confused.gif) |

I would also like to know if this is true…
The impression I have is that physical sunscreens have lower PPD.
The one I am using is with 14.88% of ZnO and 5.8% of TiO2. According to Ciba Simulator, its PPD is only 12.8.
So I tend to use chemical sunscreens when I have to stay outdoors for a longer period of time, i.e. on vacation.
But I love my physical sunscreen for daily use. |

i'm going to purchase uv natural sunblock. a product with 23% zinc and a bunch of other soothing ingredients has got to be MUCH better for your skin on a day to day basis vs. a bunch of chemicals...not sure what the ppd is on 23% zinc, if anyone knows that'd be great! |

What is that one with the 23% zinc oxide? I'm so curious. And is it micronized or nanosized?

it's called UV Natural, that's actually the brand name. Not sure about the micro or nano thing. google UV Natural, they list all their ingredients. Let me know if you can fiqure out the ppd or what your thoughts are on this as an effective sun block. thanks! |

Hyguee,
I found an interesting post on MUA about this one:
http://www.makeupalley.com/m~57252684
But I don't know the poster so I can't be sure how reliable that person is.
It looks like it is nano but coated differently than Zinclear. I didn't know Zinclear is silicone coated. Bad for me if it is. I'm trying to go 'cone' free.
It looks like it's carried at Wholefoods so I'm hoping to sample it. If you get some, let me know how it goes on. The ones that look ok on pale people don't look so good on me.
