I have used c-effectives 10%, which I liked alot but is no longer made and am currently trying IS clinical super serum, not sure if I like it much or not and it's really expensive. Im thinking of trying Jan Marini c-esta. what is the difference in this product compared to an l-absorbic acid based serum, anyone know? thanks

I have used the Jan Marini C-Esta serum before and quite liked it. I have tried a number of C serums without too much success as most caused me to break out. A C Serum does not fit my routine at the moment but if I use one again it will be Jan Marini C-esta as it did not break me out, it is very easy to apply and sinks in without any residue like many other C serums.

Really? This may be the only one I haven't tried because the reviews on it were that it's a thick serum that dosen't absorb. Did you try the regular one or oil-control?

It's a wonderful serum and very effective. It's actually not thick at all (the oil control version) and keeps my face shine free for at least 4 hours.
I love it.

I have used both. I found the oil control version very drying so went back to the normal one. The consistency is like a liquid and absorbs almost as soon as it is applied and you only need wait about a minute before applying another product over the top. It does need to be shaken before use.

I've always likes JM products. Thanks Bushy. Did you find the oil-control version left a film on your face..you know, the taut layer most oil-control serums leave?

marina, I use it and it doesn't leave any film.
I have very oily skin and it prevents shine for 4 hours and more. My skin is less oily when I use it.
LOVE it!

Thanks ladies, how would you compare the c-esta to a l-absorbic c-serum. Also I have been using retin-a but it seems to make me scar when I get a pimple, any luck with factor-a line by jan marini?

The oil control C-esta does not leave any film on the skin. IMO JM's C-esta is just as effective as any other C serum.
I have not used retin-a so can't compare it to JM's factor-a or factor-a plus.
I have found in the past that the usage of JM products stopped my skin feeling oily and certainly stopped any breakouts. The other benefit with JM products is there is very little wait times between application of products and that includes glycolic, c-esta, factor-a or factor-a plus and the other products. The other thing I like is that JM products all have a use by date and I really like that with skin care.

thanks for all the good info, I have 2 more question for you...1. do you use all of these products togather? I was recommended the c-esta, clear lotion, transformation serum and factor-a at night, seems like a lot, what was your regime. I also have had a problem with my skin lately. I used obagi for 6 months and although I did like it, I am darker skinned and it really bleached out my face. I don't want anything that will further make my head look like it does not belong on my body. 2. Did JM products make your skin look a lot lighter?

When I was using the JM products I used the Bioglycolic cleanser followed immediately with C-esta serum (if you don't use c-esta serum then you have to wait 15 minutes), then Factor-A plus, wait two minutes, then bioclear lotion, wait 30 seconds then age intervention serum. You can follow the same routine morning and night but in the initial stages it is best to only try the factor-a or factor-a plus two to three times a week until your skin adjusts and the same with the bioclear lotion. These two products need to be introduced slowly. Also in the day I finished with the SPF30 sunscreen.
