Can anyone please recommend a supplier for the above chemicals who are willing to ship to Australia (and reasonable shipping charges too!).

I would only be interested in getting small DIY amounts, i.e. under 100g or 4oz

nyonyakay,
What are these two chemicals for? Are they new actives? What do you use them in? I am just curious Wink

nyonyakay,

I get my dimethyl isorbide from cellbone technologies http://www.cellbone.com/ . Very high quality products, but not cheap.

I don't know if they ship to australia...

Thank you, Katee, I will investigate.

WildCat, this link will tell you exactly what the DMI ingredient is and does: http://www.cellbone.com/DMI.htm

It appears we should use it as a solvent for water-soluble actives. It also has the effect of being a "penetration-enhancer" to get actives into the epidermis. The website says to add this at a 5% concentration - I believe this applies to the weight of the finished potion.

Katee, please chime in if you have anything to add. I presume you have worked with this before.

Katee,
Did you add this to your Eye Potion?

Can dimethyl isorbide also help with the penetration of carrier oils like jojoba, rosehip?

I just ordered Dimethy Isorbide and Matrixyl 3000 from Cellbone. Matrixyl 3000 is on sale, 25ml for $24. I am hoping to use Dimethy Isobride in my future mixture with pearl powder...still exploring Think
