Is there such a thing as too much DMAE?

In the morning I usually just put a little Vitamin C crystals into a small container add some warm water and put it onto my face with cotton. So I thought why the heck not do this with DMAE as well. So the past two mornings I've added a little DMAE to the Vitamin C, add water and use the cotton to put it on my face. I thought this was fine, but then was reading about percentages and was wondering is too much DMAE bad? It doesn't sting at all. What are your thoughts?

Hi soccermominsd,

I wish I had an answer for you ... but it's a very interesting question.

I know that Vitamin C and DMAE can be used together ... I think it's Dr. Pericone has them together, although he pushes C Ester ... but I have no idea what the percentages are. Confused

For some reason, Canada has banned the importation of DMAE ... so I can't even play with it! Crying or Very sad

Hopefully someone else will have some info for you.

Coincidentally, I was over checking out the Skin Interactives board ... and came upon the following information about DMAE ... Very Happy

O.K. It's late & if I'm wrong I'm sure someone will correct me. Amine dmae can't be applied at the same time as vit. c..the ascorbic one anyway, not ester c. Bitarwhachamacallit form (bitartate??) dmae shouldn't be a problem.

Wow, that's disturbing...so what does this mean in terms of using DMAE? Not to use it? Someone

I wouldn't use it at higher than recommended percentages though. If you do a search in skincare you'll find a very high number of people find it irritating either immediately or in the long-run.

For me it's a no no, but that was established prior to any doubts about its safety.

Some neutral products with only 3% aren't disturbing to me (like Alphaderma), but then they're not very lifting either.
