Hi everyone! I am a new member and I'd like to introduce myself to you all. I am littlebo and i'm from the UK. I have been looking at all the topics and you're all such experts!
Basically I need some help with my skincare I am totally confused I am 27 years old with combination skin. Its quite dry to normal on the cheeks and can get oily in the t-zone but this changes from being not very oily to very oily. So my skin goes from dry to oily. I get breakouts in this area usually around the time of the month. I am so so bad though as I can't stop picking them my pores here are enlarged and get blocked and i get a few blackheads on the nose. Also i don't have problems with any wrinkles yet but i have started to get brown spots just under my eyes! I think its sun damage but what can i do? I've heard of dermalogica brightening treatment but can i use it on the eyes?
Sorry so may questions but I am totaly confused by all the products. I'd like to have a regime i can stick to but i keep swapping. If you can help i would really apprieciate it!! |

Hi Littlebo!
I thought I'd reply because we are the same age and we have a (more or less) similar skin type. Mine ranges from just being plain normal to being combo (a bit oily on the t-zone). At the moment it's stuck (luckily) in "normal" mode
Two of the most important things for me at the moment (and for quite some time now) are sunblock and a vitamin C serum. I have just recently started using a vit C serum specifically for the eye area as well (before I just used one on my face). And, of course, I use an eye cream with SPF or apply sunblock over eye cream without SPF.
I actually have quite a collection of products so I just kinda alternate between what I have. However, lately I have been using the Dr Hauschka Cleansing Cream which has pretty much sorted out issues with blackheads for me. If you do get a very oily t-zone though then you may not like this (not sure). I do occasionally get bumps under the skin as well and I use MDF Clearing Complex Masque to make sure they are kept at bay. So far so good!
I can identify with what you said about wanting to have a regime but not beeing able to stick to it I'm like that too though I am getting better as I find products that I really like. I have stuck with the cleansing cream for a while now (ok, I switch between the Dr H and Jurlique - but these are effectively the same). Vitamin C serums, as well as sunblocks, are a fixture in my routine as well - even though I may not be brand loyal to a specific one (Vivier on the face and Cellex-C around the eyes - actually at the moment I'm trying the CellularSkinRX vit C serum on my face ). Other things, such as masks for example, I tend to alternate between what I have.

Thanks Mabsy!
Thats a great help. I definately need a bit of coaching in this area! I always thought you should more or less stick to a brand as they work together but you/and alot of the people on this site seem to use several.
I think I will try that cleansing cream. I have also thought about trying the vit c serum as everyone seems to love it! The trouble with all these products is that they are great but cost so much money!! You need a bank loan! |
