Hi does anyone know if using copper peptide products can increase sensitivity to the sun?
Also can anyone compare neova products to skinbiology for oily, young, acne prone skin. I know you shouldn't judge abook by its cover but the skinbio packaging I've seen in photos and the asthetics of the website really turn me off to the products?
Thanks. |

Jane, I don't know the answer to your question about copper and the sun but my guess would be "Yes, copper could increase sun sensitivity." Again, just a hunch.
Just a note: If you are, indeed, a sun lover and don't use sunscreen and re-apply it every 2 hours, you are courting some serious issues in just a few years.
My concern here, though, is why in the world you would associate packaging and website aesthetics with product efficacy? Some of the most worthless products I've ever seen have come in amazingly beautiful packages.

Ari, I thought copper was also an antioxidant. Dr. Kunin recommends (o,k, my mind isn't what it was with impending age) using it a.m. If it caused skin sensitivity, why would she recommend it. I'll take a look over at her site. |

I read that copper especially GHK helps defend against uv rays. It was brought up on the Skin Bio forum. |

I also recall that CPs offer some sun protection. |

CPs are neutral, anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory. In fact Skinbio does a sun line with them though I couldn't recommend it.
I've used them as part of my sun strategy for two beach trips in southern China. AM, splashed C-esters on my exposed parts, PM splashed CP serum.
I've also used days and I'm very prone to sun sensitivity which is why I rarely use exfoliants daytime.
The Super CP series might be another matter because they're combined with salicylic acid. |
