the hyperpigmentation on my face seemed to get worse day by day, week by week. I was doing all of the right things, wearing a high ppd sunblock every dying moment of daylight, using retinoids and various fading agents. Well, it turns out, that this "hyperpigementation" was actually fine fine hairs growing ALL OVER my face from the rogaine I've been using on my eyebrows! How messed up is that?!? I only figured it out after using and burning myself with a small amount of depilatory on my face, a voila, the patch that I thought was hyperpigmentation was gone. Now I just don't know what to do, this hair is literally all around my eyes and all over my face...I don't even know if wax could take care of this wonderful new problem. Crying or Very sad

OMG! Did the rogaine get on your face from your pillow while sleeping?

I thought I'd heard everything..I thinkonce you stop using it the hair will atrophy since rogaine has to be used continuously to be effective. So relax...I'm not sure about waxing. Once I tried nair to remove facial hair (in my not-so-bright-youth) and had whiter areas when the hair used to be. Color came back, but it was panic city for a while. I don't want to say go ahead on waxing because I'm not sure..maybe speak to an esthetician.

On the bright side...rogaine works..who knew Rolling Eyes

Yes I thought I heard everything as well - gosh who would have thought?? From what I know with, if you stop Rogaine it will go away but it will be gradual. At least now you won't have to deal with pigmentation. Good Luck. Dips Smile

What a terrible thing to happen! Sad Like Marina said I would stop the rogaine and speak with an esthetician about waxing.

If for some reason the esthetician says waxing is not good maybe shaving??? I know there are ladies on EDS who are regular 'face shavers' for exfoliating purposes. Maybe try shaving a little spot first though to make sure nothing odd happens.

Good luck!!!

Yikes...how bizarre is that!! My first response is, have you called the Rogaine people? I would think they would know what to do (and why it happened), and I would hope that they would want to KNOW what happened to you. Keep us posted on the outcome!

Sorry to hear that Coconut.. Confused I've been using 5% extra strength for men on my eyebrows for about 4 months now and hasn't gotten the same problem as you.. Maybe you can go to a salon to get your face waxed or perhaps epilating your face with a mini facial epilator Question

That's crazy, Coconut! I feel bad for you. Be extra careful shaving or doing anything around the eyes.

Last year, a friend gave me a gift certificate for dermaplaning at a spa. The woman who did it was very good, and it involved her deftly removing the top layers of my skin with a straight blade razor. Any and all hair was also removed in the process. She even did around my eyes. It was like the mother of all exfoliations. It would definitely get rid of your hair...

Sigh, I made the situation so so much worse. I couldn't deal with the two light patches around my temples, so I put depilatory on my face like a mask and gave myself a very unnatural looking hairline, I look so ridiculous right now. It surely made my eyebrow pop...I have the thick eyebrows I've always wanted, now I'm not so sure they even suit my face. On top of that, my skin is breaking out erratically again, I want to crawl into a cave right now = (

Yes, Rogain can do that.

Personally, I would not wax around my eyes because the skin is too thin/delicate. I'd just shave it.
