I bought a Dermalogica Microfoliant over the internet from a company in the UK. When I removed the box, I held the plastic bottle up to the light and noticed that the powder is only up to the C of Dermalogica printed on the side. Do any of you know if this is this normal or should the powder be up to the top of the plastic bottle? If this IS normal, why do they sell products that are only three quarters full?
I'd really like to know your opinions before I call the company and rant at them!! |

Dermalogica products all have a protective seal on them and the one I bought had it and it was not filled to the top. Didn't look at it in the light but I know I did expect more in it so yes I had a similar experience. |

Thanks for your reply. There is a tiny metal seal over one end of the cardboard box, but there wasn't any seal covering the opening inside the bottle. I really wish that skincare manufacturers would start making their products more tamper-proof. It seem silly to me that they put a small seal over end of the cardboard box when someone could just open the it at the other end! I like Skinceuticals because there is a firm plastic seal around the actual bottle and the product cannot be resold or decanted by unreputable companies. We pay so much for our skincare it's the least manufacturers could do. |

there is usually a seal around the products too. they are not particularly good (not the plastic type, just a sticker) but there is usually something! Although the microfoliant is not always perfetly full because the powder poofs up and settles. |

Just for you I went to my chest of goodies where I have new products I haven't gotten to yet. I opened my sealed Dermalogica and held it up to the light. The product goes to about a third of the way into the second A in Dermalogica. I'm leaning towards the conclusion that you have a powdered product that has settled as it's not that much lower than the product I have. |

I also want to point out that powdered products are measured by weight and not volume so it should be normal that the product does not fill to the top. |

dermalogica products only use the metal/silve lookin seal. When I bought mine, it wasnt filled up to the top either. I believe it's suppose to be like that. |

Thanks for your replies and to Refus for going to her secret stash of Dermalogica! That was very kind of you, thank you.
I've decided to write to Dermalogica and ask them why they don't put a more tamper proof seal all around the product. It's obvious that if someone is going to tamper with the product, they're not going to break the seal but just open the box at the other end. It makes the principle of having a seal quite pointless.
What is to stop packers syphoning the product out of the container for their own use or diluting the product with a cheaper powder? Is greater security such a high demand given the price of Dermalogica products? |

really?? all the deramlogica I've ever bought has a sticker you have to tear through to open the product, usually around the cap. |

Thanks for your reply. There was nothing on the cap only a tiny seal on the cardboard box. Are you sure there usually is one on the Microfoliant? I can't use it until I know this for sure. Rufus, if you're reading this, could you have another looked at your stash and see if there is a seal on the cap. I will be so annoyed if the company have sent me a product that's been tampered with particularly as I'm a very good customer. |

I'm getting a new one any day now from EDS, so I'll let you know if there's the sticker -- I could be wrong, since I bought my last one quite a long time ago. |

I would be very grateful if you could let me know when you receive it if there is a seal around the cap and up to what level it is filled. Thanks!

i remember mine was sealed on the inside opening. But it's correct, they are never filled to the top (the reason being when you tip it over, you dont get massive blockage on the top initially or tip too much out) . However, the microfoliants last FOREVER though so that's no surprise |

there should be a slim sticker attaching the cap to the bottle, once you twist off the cap of the microfiliant, the sticker is broken. This is a way to indicate whether the product is new or already been tampered with. When i bought my microfiliant, it wasn't filled to the top. It was probably 2/3 full. |

just got my microfoliant. There was a sticker seal on the cap, but it does come about 2/3 full. However, my moisturizer did not have the seal, and it usually does -- and I know EDS is not poking through my order, ha! So it could be just that the manufacturer is inconsistent... |

i just got my microfoliant today and as with most of dermalogica's products, it doesnt have a seal at the cap (just a silver seal on the box). and its not a full bottle, it cam just above the c of dermalogiCa. but i do hate the way that they dont seal EVERYTHING! |
