I'm in the market for a new summer coat. I'd really like something smart, fitted and a little unusual/quirky.
I ordered 4 different ones to try. They've now arrived and I'm having trouble deciding between them.
I need to choose between...
1) The one that looks blummin' awful in every single way
2) The one that, when fastened, makes me look like a sack of potatoes and, when open, makes me look like a dirty old man about to flash someone in the park before going off to see a p.o.r.n.o film
3) The one that makes me look like a circus act
4) The one that makes me look like I'm wearing one of the more absurd costumes from Cirque du Soleil
So, which one do you reckon? Which summer look is me - dreadful, peverted potato, clown or mutant-freak?
Or should I just go into hibernation for the next several months? ![hmm](images/smiles/017.gif) |

I'm about to embark on this search too and it ain't gonna be purty. I'm 5"1' and I hate that I always get called 'cute'. I want stylish for a short lady.
I'm going to be on the lookout and I'll post a link if I see anything good. |

Definately the sack of potatoes - the coat opens and closes - functionality . Besides I'm sure you could never look like an old man... ![Laughing](images/smiles/lol.gif) |

If you'd have seen me in that coat, you might have changed your mind!
Must admit that I did have such a laugh trying on all of those coats. I couldn't stand up for a while after trying the Cirque du Soleil one, as I was so weak with laughter. They really did look cute on the websites - unfortunately, they transformed into something quite bizarre once I put them on. It must be some kind of special talent I have, I reckon.
Anyway, I sent the whole blummin' lot back this morning and had a look in the city instead. I'd hoped to avoid doing that, so I wouldn't be tempted to buy any non-coat items, but...
I found a really beautiful jacket. Fitted and neat enough for my 5'2" little frame, and with some lovely, special detailling. It looks great and is very flattering.
Unfortunately, I ended up wanting to buy 2 flaming tops too! (I knew it was a bad idea to go into town.)
If any UK people are interested, Ted Baker will be holding a 25% off day just before the next May bank holiday. You'll need to get a store card first. I intend to buy my 2 tops then - just hoping they'll still be in stock. |
