I started on copper about 3 months ago under my eyes. Used it about 3 nights a week. Loved it. It's still doing great.
I started to use it over my cheeks about 3 weeks ago, about 3 nights a week too, and just this week got the uglies. It's starting to settle down a bit now after no use for 4 days.
So, here is the strange thing.
I can use it under my eys, and they continue to improve, but a couple uses on my cheeks, and I'm having to cut it back to one night a week there because of irritation/uglies.
I read that overuse can cause damage, so if I have to stop using it on my cheeks I will. Or should I try one night a week only and see what that does. Does the uglies mean, I cant use it at all, or just that I over did it (typical me, overdoing it).
I'm using the skinbio's SuperCP.
I usually just put on about 1 drop over each area I treat. Not much at all.
Any thoughts? I'm furious too, because usually I dont do anything without asking my surgery center nurse, but she encouraged me to use, it, but I did not consult more with her than I should of about doses and specifics ect. |

I started using the copper peptides a week ago. The instructions I received advise to start with the mildest version and work up gradually as needed. It can take months to effect a change, so it's not wise to over do it in the hopes of achieving instant success.
Using the strongest concentration is not recommended.
I bought mine from http://skinbiologycanada.com/main.php which is the Canadian purchasing site for Dr. Pickart.
P.S. Dr. Pickart http://www.skinbiology.com/ the inventor of copper peptides describes in detail the changes you can expect. Skin can look worse before it gets better, but it's also true that people can overdo it. If that's the case, he suggests cutting back to once a day or once every second day or leaving it alone until the skin heals. |

Well, He recomends to use once a day, I was only doing it 3 times a week, and still got irritated. I think I'm going to do 1 night a week, and just start again from there.
Thanks for your input. |

SandraG,
Did you start off with Super CP serum, or the regular serum?
I have been using the regular serum for about 6 months, and just tonight, I ordered the Super CPserum.
Just a thought, but maybe you started on the Super Serum too soon? |

I started on the SuperCP Serum. I agree, I started too much.
Shall I stop, or just go the one night a week.
Also, I just use it right out of the bottle, but only one drop. I dont mix it with water.

SandraG,
Sorry, I don't know what to tell you. I'm not sure than you would get the benefits if you only use it once a week.
I really think you should start off the regular CP serum once a day diluted in water for a few weeks until your skin get accustomed to the copper, then slowly add the super serum. Maybe someone more knowledgeable will come along with some advise.
Wish I could be of more help. |

It's strongly advised not to start with the Super Serum, unless you require it for something specific like skin tags or acne scarring. And even then, it's probably wise to start slow with the milder forms.
See this page.

Sandra, one thing you might be able to do is use the Super Serum on other parts of your body than your face (if they need it).
For example, I've got some scarring on my legs from dermatitis so I'm slathering the CP Serum (not super serum) on that area. On my face I only use two drops once a day. Plus I use the emu oil. My legs can handle a little more.
Or you could just order the CP Serum and store the super serum for future use.
Another thing to consider: Is your skin on the dry or sensitive side? I believe the site recommends another product for people with dry skin. It might be Protect and Restore but you might want to check with them about what would be best.
I understand some people do additional exfoliation with the peptides but I find the serum is actually exfoliating my skin quite well. It's much smoother.
Keep us posted about what you find out. |

If I store the SuperSP serum, will it go off?
How long could I store it for.
That is a good idea.
I am going to call them tomorrow.
I know I overdid it. Because my cheeks kind of hurt too from it, when I got the uglies.
I'll post what they say too.
They say you can dilute the SuperCP, but they dont say with what...water?
Thanks for all your input gals...
Oh and my skin is normal. |

I just spoke to the skinbio people.
They said I can dilute the SuperCP with water
1/2cup of water and 2 teaspoons of SuperCP.
One night a week is fine. It's still effective. Then graduate to 2 nights in a couple of weeks..

Sandra,
I was just about to recommend you dilute your Super CP with water (if you really do not want to go down to regular CP serum).
I've been using CPs for over a year now and I started by mixing (in my hand) 4 drops of regular CP serum with 6 drops of water. After several weeks I increased the ratio of CP serum and reduced the water( something like 4:6, 5:5, 6:4, 7:3, . . .)
It took me good 4 months before I was using regular CP serum straight. Than, I continued using CP serum for about a month before I started mixing it with Super CP serum. I started by mixing 2 drops of Super CP serum with 8 drops of regular CP serum. I again took months to get to full strength of Super CP serum.
And even now, over a year later, I often mix regular and super CP serum 50:50. There are days when I only apply regular CP serum, and there are days when I use Super CP straight.
So, I if I were you - I would back down and start slower.
As for how long you can keep your serum - I've had my big bottles in the fridge for almost a year now. And they are perfectly fine.
HTH!

Thanks Ruby...
That's what I'm doing. I have so cut back! Wow..you did it good!
It is suppose to make your skin yukky before better, so I'll just hang in there.
Funny on the website, the animated pic of the skin and how it gets ugly and then lovely again, that is exactly how my skin on cheeks is looking. Grey, recessed, shrunken in.
EEEKKKkkk I never knew I had all the crap hiding under my skin..it's all come out
But then in the animation when it goes all pretty again, that's what I am mentally invisioning. |
