Dear all. I have combo and sensitive skin. Used to have acen two years ago. Maybe I washed my face too harshly back then, which results in the redness on the two sides of my nose. I can see vein under the skin. Does anyone have the same symptom? I'd like any recommendation for skincare product to fix the problem. thanks! |

Yep, got that too!
Went to a PA about a month ago for another issue and she told me I have Rosacea. Yours and mine seem to be mild but you now have to be very careful about what you put on your face or it will get worse. There are several threads about rosacea so type it in the search field.
So far, the only things I know of that will get rid of the redness are RX products. The vein needs a laser treatment. |

I agree you might have rosacea. That's how mine started. See a derm to see what the problem is. |

Histeric, it does sound like rosacea. Please be careful when cleansing your face, don't use anything harsh and avoid extremes of temperature when washing, always use tepid/lukewarm water and avoid any steam treatments, as temperature really affects rosacea. |

The sides of my nose are a bit red with small veins, but I thought that was broken capillaries? |

Many thanks to you guys! I actually paid a visit to a dermatologist a month ago and she told me it is pityriasis. Along with treatment (Clindamycin)for my mild acne, she prescribe Ketoconazole. The instruction says it is normally used to treat skin infections such as athelete foot and dandruff. I am a little confused. Have been using it for a while and see no lightening on the redness yet. Anyone know this medication? |

Based on what I have read so far, for permanent redness no topical treatment is as effective as the IPL treatment. It might be worthwhile to look into this option instead. |
