what are the two differences between these two topical acne medications? I'm currently on clyndoxil gel but my dermatologist has lately prescribed me differin instead |

clyndoxil is a benzoyl peroxide and differin Vitamin A (Retin)-based. Benzoyl peroxide kills bacteria and Retinol products exfoliate the skin and promote skin turn over. |

I don't know how serious your acne problem is, and I know everyone is different, but my experience with differin is that it was pretty ineffective. It did make make skin feel softer, but that's it. When I went on tazorac I got real change. Good luck! I think the dermo's like to work their way through the products i.e. lower strength to higher strength. For me it took a stronger product and I wish I had tried it sooner. |
