I don’t know if anyone remembers, but a few weeks ago I was asking for help in
identifying some shoes on ebay... and thanks to some help on here I was pointed in the
right direction on where to find them (Korean auction site).. MY SHOES CAME
TODAY!!! These shoes are truly the coolest sneakers I’ve ever seen or owned. There’s a
3 inch heel hidden in them! I seriously thought that the pictures of them where well taken
and concealing the fact that they probably looked chunky in person, or the heel being
obvious. The pictures actually don’t do them justice.. in person they look like regular
sneakers! I mean if you REALLY examine them you can maybe tell they have a heel
hidden in them, but when they’re on... they look like regular sneakers. Now I get to be
super model tall and no one will know I’m really 3 inches shorter!!
I think I’m gonna buy these in every color. I mean I got them for like $55 total (something
around there because I had to pay the adjusted shipping)
A pic from the side (and its weird, in person they don't really look like they have a "heel":
Thanks Tiger_Tim for helping me find these shoes
(btw, the shoes themselves were under $20, but the rest of the price was in the shipping to the US!!! And they do NOT at all look like cheap shoes. I imagine most of the shoes we have over here would be around that price in Korea anyway) |

Yay for you, PhoebesMeow! They are really cute! I totally want a pair now! What size did you get? Do they run wide or narrow (I have really skinny feet)? Do you know if they run up to a US size 8 or 8-1/2? Let me know if you can answer any of these questions - I might have to go in with you on your next purchase! |

I got the largest size available
The largest they had was equivalent to a US size 8. My true size is a 7.5 but I figured since these where Korean (and korean woman have tiny feet) I'd go with a half size larger. On the website they did do the conversion and I have to say.. they were right on. I really should have gone with a 7.5 but I'm okay with the 8's.. they ARE a bit roomy though and slide up and down but I suppose I could wear thick socks. They are VERY comfortable! I don't know about the width because they fit me just fine in that area (I have a normal width size I would say). The coolest thing about these shoes are that if you google the brand... NOTHING. These shoes are SUPER original and no one else you know is going to be wearing them (if you care about that sort of thing).. but I mean NO ONE would know then that they're secret hidden heels (THREE INCHES!) I haven't been this excited about a pair of shoes in awhile. |

Wow, secret hidden 3 inch heels! I wonder if they work as a cell phone, too? Like spy shoes or something.
I think they are cute and a clever design. I don't want to see you running a marathon in those shoes, though. But.....your legs would sure look pretty! Enjoy those shoes! |

Phoebesmeow, would you mind posting the Ebay seller's user name, so I can check them out? I love Ebay! I cannot believe how cool these shoes look. Do they come in other colors than brown? They look a bit like bowling shoes, huh? |

Hey, if you do a co-op I'll buy your used 8's plus red and black nubuck/suede. (so long as your used aren't "used" too much). |

i hate when i'm zeno-ing and can't type.. okay all done
The shoes are on ebay yes.. but through an Australian seller. She charges what would be US equivalent to $63.93 and then she wants like $20 or so for shipping to US. I found them first by searching ebay for "high heel sneakers" (I was looking for the guess bardot style ones NOT most of those that come up). Am I allowed to post the sellers name? I don't really know, but considering she has a low score and I found the sneakers elsewhere I think I'll stay away from that.
I found the sneakers by using Japan's google for mizmiz (I pieced together the brand name by looking at her pictures and I wasn't even sure that was it.. I got lucky!)
The sneakers, as well as many other cool items are at the Gmarket which is a Korean Auction.
They even accept Paypal. I kind of putzed around on it and didn't do it right the first time which is why the shoes took so long to get to me. They actually sent them EMS so it was about a 4 day delivery from Korea! Plus this Gmarket website has GREAT customer service.
The picture does kind of make them look like bowling shoes, but IRL they are a very rich brown suede so I don't get that bowling shoe effect I get when I look at the pictures.
Here is a link to the Gmarket where I found them. The Red ones look really cool. I guess they have them in two styles now. I prefer the full suede style over the other one. I want to make this "price bargaining" button work! The thing is the shoes themselves are $19.33! It's the shipping that brings them up to around $55!

Does anyone read Korean? LOL
Phoebesmeow? How did you know what color you were selecting? It's all in Korean. Also I imagine the number in the box you can select relates to sizes. I have no idea what those sizes mean in US sizes.
I see they got black and red colors, too. I love the black and the red.
Does anyone know if you buy more than one pair, how much shipping would be?
What's a bargain button? |

The bargain button doesn't work Maybe its just the browser I tried it in but so far it doesn't work. I imagine it is for bargaining the price down.
I read Korean just fine No, I wish! But what you can do is go to Altavista translator here:
http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/tr
then you want to "translate a webpage" so take the address of the shoe page which is this:
http://global.gmarket.co.kr/challenge/neo_goods/goods.asp?goodscode=109720666&pos_shop_cd=RC&pos_class_cd=111111111&pos_class_kind=T
copy and paste that into the box and choose "Korean to English" then it will translate it for you and the size box and color box will be in English!
Then I googled Korean shoe size conversion. The sizes are 250= 8 (female) 245=7.5 and the smallest size they have is 225= 5.5 and they have all the half size between 5.5 and 8.
If you notice the styles, there is an A style and a B style. I ordered A which is the full suede style. If you scroll down the page you can see the two styles. I'm not crazy about the B style
I will try to check out later today if ordereing more than one brings the shipping down. That would be great. They only have style A in brown and red though.
Oh the price bargaining DOES work! in IE only.. btw, I had to buy these in IE because firefox wouldn't work for purchasing.. figures the bargaining button would work in IE as well |

Thanks for the translation tip. I was wondering that myself.
As for the barganing button. You choose how many pairs you want and press the button. It will send a letter to the seller and I think it asks you how much you want to pay. Then I think you haggle with the seller over price. I'm just guessing here... |

Hmm.. I just checked and the shipping for 2 is $36.27 so you don't save much when buying more than one pair (shipping for one pair is $22.70). And the thing is that is only the "estimated shipping cost". When it actually gets to the post they tacked on another $6 for "actual shipping cost" and I had to pay the difference. Good thing the shoes themselves are so cheap. I swear if I ever went to Korea I'd buy a whole suitcase full and sell em on Ebay |

C, you have no idea how right you are. Actually, PhoebesMeow IS a genius! A bona fide genius, with a very high IQ. AND she's sweet, pretty, and an animal lover, too. Next we'll find out she's a millionaire as well! |

I was just making a point about homeschooling! I normally wouldn't say something like that but it gets me a little tiffed when I see negative talk about it
I do wonder.. if you took an iq test years ago, is that still your iq? ugh this is terribly off topic.
Not a millionaire. Don't have too much aspiration for alot of money unless it was to start a kitty shelter.
Anyway, please post if you find these shoes in NYC's Koreatown! The brand is MizMiz
These kind of "hidden heel" shoes are VERY popular in Korea I'm noticing, so you'll probably find some variation of them. Although this particular style is my favorite. |
