| I'm headed to Brisbane Australia next week and was wondering if there are good sunscreens available there that I should stock up on. If there's anywhere where folks should be serious about sunscreen I would guess it's be Brisbane... |

| maybe u can try the one from astrali if u have sensitive skin.. it has a SPF of 28+.. for face n body.. it's not too oily for face though.. so it's convenient.. |

| Probably the most popular here is the Megan Gale invisible zinc sunscreen which you can find in most chemists. Although I am an Aussie, I prefer the Remergent SPF30 which I get from EDS. |

| Thanks Bushy. Is the Megan Gale a pure physical sunscreen? I've ordered a European Tinosorb one, but I don't think it will arrive in time for my trip. The US is so behind the times in sunscreens approved by the FDA; I was hoping that things would be much better in Australia. |

Hi I live in Brisbane and absolutely love
Ultraceuticals spf30. This is a physical sunscreen and has that additional benefits of a moistuiser with greentea. It goes on smoothly, no white cast and sinks in beautifully. This one also is very popular. Im extremely fussy with sunscreen and always come back to this one. I have not tried the Megan Gale as of yet. Ultraceuticals can be found @ David Jones in the city and selected salons.

I think Australian sun standards are pretty much similar to USA. Most of us haven't even heard of mexoryl or tinosorb. No one I know except on forums know about Anthelios which isn't available out here. Most sunscreen ingredients are still titanium dioxide, zinc oxide and avobenzene (PARSOL 1789, I think is the #). And your usual chemical UVB blockers like oxybenzene (sp?). I use the Anthelios and Citrix SPF 30. I've used ultraceuticals but wasn't happy with the % of zinc oxide.
Plus we only have a certain number of manufacturers out here that make skin care so I've been told by a few pharmacists so the basics are all the same. |

| I have bought sunsense. I think it is a australia brand. What I bought is for senstive skin, it is qutie good. but it is a bit sticky. so if you are dry skin, I would be very good as it is formulated for senstive skin |

Here is the link to the Australian company that (Ganehill) that invented the invisible zinc that is used in the sunscreen. It is pure physical.

| I am from Australia and there are plenty of brands - have to be with our sun! Most are at least 30+. My mumswears by good old Hamilton Sunscreen. I use any with titanium dioxide in them and avoid PABA. |
