Which is more beneficial to the skin?
I have been using topical vitamin C for about 6 months now but with the dry weather and approaching winter, I am finding topical vit C too drying - my skin feels really tight when I am waiting for my vit C to sink in.
Will taking Ester C have the same benefit as applying topical vit C. If so, how much do I need to take per day if eliminate topical vit C? |

Topical and oral VitC do completely different things and can't be compared. |

Thanks Ruth, I did not realise that.
I thought that oral Vit C also helps with the production of collagen. |

All I know is that Dr. P of Skin Biology recommends taking oral Vitamin C to enhance the effects of CPs. If you're applying a good moisturiser over your topical Vitamin C doesn't this help? |

Vit C gets absorbed more readily when applied onto the skin while Oral Vit C is for general health. |

One thing to remember is topical Vitamin C is notoriously unstable and it can be rendered ineffective by formulation factors like concentration and pH, exposure to air and light. I guess that's why some of the C serum cost so much to get to the right formula. |

I am afraid certain parts of my face is quite dry at the moment due to the weather and the various acids that I have been using so even after applying a good moisturiser, my face still ends up with some very patches. I think I will now use topical Vit C every other day and see if this helps. |
