Hello everyone,

I'm sitting here on a Saturday morning and have come to the realization that I'm a infomerical junkie. <ack!>

Anyone else in this boat?

If so, what products have you bought? (Are you ashamed of any?) Any that you bought and just love?

Care to review any of them? hehe

I'm convinced I now need a Magic Bullet, SwivelSweeper, Victoria Principles Reclaim, and I'm on the fence between the BE starter kit or Sheer Cover.

I'm so sad. Embarassed

FYI: I had knee surgery on the 18th and I've been able to watch more TV than I have in months. I just keep going to Paid Programming when I'm awake in the early AM. The acting so terrible that its fun to watch....like bad soap opera acting. Laughing

Am I the only one?

No, you're not. I watch informercials too and have purchased a couple of items. The Magic Bullet is alright but it's not as great as it appears on TV. You can actually buy the Magic Bullet in stores now.

I've yet to be 100% satisfied with an infomerical purchase. Sad

I'm also so intrigued by infomercials!

I bought the Magic Bullet after watching it on tv...I purchased in store though. While it is a good idea, I haven't used it that much! I'm so disappointed...it seems that its good for smoothies and such. I haven't done anything else yet!

One of my girlfriends placed an order for Sheer Cover and then after reading bad reviews, tried to cancel. They gave her such a hard time about it. I wouldn't order...I'd go with BE instead.

Why don't you check out the As Seen on TV store?

I used to be worse with infomercials, but I don't watch them as much now. However, if I happen upon the Shopping Channel, I swear they could sell me anything. Even if it's something I never thought I had wanted. Laughing So I try to stay away from it now. I was bad this last week though ... when skipping through the channels, I stopped on it twice and both times bought the item featured (a cheap ... only $40! ... exercise machine which was on sale and a home microdermabrasion machine I posted about yesterday). One thing I love about the Shopping Channel though (TSC) is that returns are easy! So I feel more comfortable than buying off a regular tv informercial.

Moonstarr,

I can totally relate. I honestly think it is where all this started--QVC.

I was channel flipping before work about a month ago and on QVC (which I never watch), they were selling a can opener. I don't know why I stopped, but i did <sigh>.

It opens cans around the edges so no shavings get in your food. It ALSO came with a multi-beer bottle top opener. While I have used the additional opener...on the occassional Heinekin....I LOVE my new can opener! I use it all the time. It somehow unseals the can and the top lifts off! My husband thought I was crazy for that impulse buy until the first time he used it. Now I never have to nag about washing off the top of the cans before he opens any (which He LOVES). My first TV purchase and I'm 100% happy.

I think that is why I'm hooked now....I'm just cheap and do research before most buys. Very Happy

Maybe that is my issue. I DIDn't need a new can opener....but i love it. I don't need a magic bullet....but maybe I DO and just don't know it yet..... Laughing

I just saw GT express101. Looks cool, but I read reviews that the teflon peels after a couple uses. It really looks promising with those deep wells....yes, I have a similar device that is for grilled cheese...(I know, pathetic), but the wells are so shallow the good stuff melts out. I rarely use it at all now.

Glad to see I'm not the only one!

P.S. Hopefully the Dermaroller will never be featured.....It looks painful, but if a super happy person tried talking me into needling....they probably would succeed. Laughing

I'll say now I'm 99% immuned from infomercial if not 100%.

I bought a Magic Bullet look alike item in a store cost me $28 about 2.5 years ago and the whole family agreed that's the most worthy $28 we've ever spent. 4 of us use it almost everyday. But we only use it to do shakes, nothing else. So I really don't know how good it is when you try to do something else with it.

I bought Sheer Cover about 2 years ago but did not like it. My face was itching.

Because of the Infomercial I went to different beauty stores to try BE but did not like it.

I bought few exercise equipments many years ago and used and liked them a lot. Now I do yoga, spinning, and light weight. So, no need for other equipments.

I still watch Infomercial to see if there's anything interesting out there and sometimes I do want to pick up the phone and order it but always ended up change the channel w/o buying anything.

I used to love watching infomercial. I think that's what convinced me to buy a HealthRider (if that's even the name of that exercise thing that turned into a very expensive clothes hanger Wink ) I saw the Sheer Cover infomercial the other day and it did seem convincing, but I'm very happy with JI, so I wasn't tempted. Other than that, yes, I admit I'm a QVC/HSN channel flipper.

I am glued to TSC at times, especially when they have blockbuster or showstopper - great savings. I bought my Cellex-C set from the show and saved quite a bit compare to retail.

I bought the Magic Bullet based on the infomercial. I did buy it in a regular store though. I will say, I do use it all the time - but only for smoothies - and for that, it's pretty good! I make my smoothie, pop a straw in and take it with me on my way to work. Very convenient. I paid $49.99 for it - and now I see that JC Penney has one very similar that's only $25.00.....

I'm most tempted by the exercise devices, but so far have managed to not order any. I go to a site called infomercialreviews.com (or something like that) and read up on them first and see if they're mostly hype or if they're any good.

Maria Very Happy

Guapa,

You're thinking of 'The Rabbit'! Which I give a big thumbs up to BTW!!!

Of course, Magic Bullet would be a GREAT name for a 'personal massage' device! Wink

Very Happy

When it <sadly> finally died...I got a new one that is....wait for it.....WATER PROOF!!!!!

I bet there are folks on here cringing now! bahahahahah!
