Best Foundation according to Real Simple Mag Sep 2007

I get Real Simple magazine at home and one came today. They published their "Best Foundations".

Finally, get even (perfect the skin, create a smooth look and are easy to apply)

For Normal Skin
light coverage: Mac Mineralife Satinfinish SPF15
medium to full coverage: Benefit Non Fiction

For Dry Skin
light cover: Trish McEvoy Even skin
medium to full cover: Giorgio Armani Hydra Glow SPF15

For Oily skin
light cover: Clinique Superbalanaced
medium to full: Guerlain Fleur de Teint Ultra Mat

For Sensitive Skin
light cover: BE Bareminerals SPF15
medium - full: Maybelline New Superstay Silky Foundation SPF12

For Mature Skin
light cover: Bobbbi Brown Luminous Moisturizing Foundation

Medium to full - Cover Girl Advanced Radiance Restorative Cream SPF10

I have to say, I have only ever tried two of these BE and Clinique (years ago)... my foundation did not make the list but I am ok with that.

Just thought you might find it interesting to see.

I'm always on the lookout for a new foundation.
I haven't tried any on the list though.

I recently purchased Illuminaires foundation and have to say, the coverage is really good. I received the sample pack and I'm experimenting with the different finishes so I'm not sure yet if I will repurchase.

Good list; Trish McEvoy Even Skin is the best foundation I have ever used and it is suitable for sensitive skin as well. I also know that a friend of mine with oily skin likes the Clinique one.

I havent used any of the foundations there, but my friend with moderate acne swears that the Clinique is the best foundation that she has ever used (Dont know which others she has used though) that provides excellent coverage for her lightly scarred face.
As much as I want to buy the foundation after what she said, I dont really like Clinique Embarassed

There is lots of mineral makeup companies out there that do not use this ingredient and cost a lot $$$. (Although Real Simple probably picked the one that advertised in their magazine.)

Since I have started using MMU I have not really wanted to go back to liquid.

I do not like BE either - but only because it was too shimmery on me. I use one that has 4 ingredients total. Love it.

I have a friend who swears by Clinique's foundation. My fav foundation, years ago, was Max Factor Waterproof in the color Ivory or Fawn. It came in a pot and lasted forever!! I loved it so much. I was so disappointed when they discontinued it. Of course, it was probably full of stuff that is not good for you - but it sure lasted.

Thanks for the post, however I would not touch this product with a ten foot pole. Tried it and I had the worse large painful cysts. I have never had them since I quit a year ago. No find for sure.

However, I don't stick to 1 brand alone.
I changed every now and then, esp. now, we do have a lot of choices.

About Clinique - despite all the negative comments on its skincare line, its foundations are often recommended. My friend swears by their City Block SPF 40 - a tinted sunscreen which she wears by itself with a dusting of powder. She looks great without the 'make-up look'. Anyone tried this before?
