I cannot recall who first came up with the idea for using this as a makeup primer...but omg THANKYOU! Was it caretake?
I always have to apply powder to help with the greasies, and I hate the way it feels especially on hot days- when I need powder the most....blotting alone is not enough for me. I had never tried a makeup primer, and with all teh skincare I have been trying, I did'nt want to spend money on anything I could live without- like makeup primer. But the monistat was so cheap it was worth a try. I got mine at drugstore.com
I put on my vit c and other products, and then the monistat, it feels like silk. I left the house w/o powdering and it is really hot here today. I kept checking the mirror, no greasies, but face does'nt appear or feel dry, just silky smooooth. I have not had to touch powder yet. I am impressed and so happy- for me this has been a godsend. Actually had I known a primer would make this much difference I would have shelled out the money anyways! But glad I found out this way as the monistat is cheaper:)
Does anyone know if the ingredients in monistat would affect my other products I put on first...I use cellular skin rx products- anti aging serum, C+firming serum, relax a line and eye bright??? I put the monistat on last, before a light liquid foundation.
Dimethicone is the active ingredient. inactive-cyclopentasiloxane, dimethicone/vinyl dimethicone crosspolymer, silica, tocopheryl acetate,trisiloxane

| Looked for it yesterday at Walgreens and all I saw was an anti-itch cream and the vaginal creams. What is the exact name on the product? Is it actually named Monistat Chafing Cream? I saw something that monistat had for itch and chafing but it had benzacaine (numbing ingrediant) and lidacaine in it. Maybe they were all out at Walgreens. Thanks for the info. |

| Got to wonder if that would help underneath some of the MMU to prevent the itch that bothers me using some brands of MMU? TRUE is the only one that doesn't bother me, but does show the pores. Can't wait to try. |

| I've been using for about 6 months and I love it. It does a good job of letting my MMU glide over my pores. They're not visible at all! It even holds up to the 100+ degree heat we're having. Love the stuff! |

You can also mix the Vit C powder into it to make the DIY serum.  |

yep, that's the stuff! I also looked at walgreens and riteaid and could not find it. Although I am not sure it's not there- it's an item that could be categorized to fit in a lot of different places in stores! So the search continues, meanwhile I'll order it online.

thanks for the link with a picture. not sure if that particular Monistat product is available in Canada. i can only remember the cream. hope it's available 'cuz i really want my MMU to look better on my cheeks (large pores). |

It's the only primer I use now. Before I still had some Smashbox, Laura Mercier primer, the new Clarins primer and a few others, but honestly there is no need to try anything else. Monistat is as good or better and far less expensive than anything else. |

| Walmart has it, for less that Walgreens.. They were putting a $2.00 off coupon inside the box too.. It's been a while since I've bought any, {bought 2 the last time} so that may not be the case anymore.. I took it out and used it right away.. It's the BEST! |

I just decided to order it from the link. Thanks again, it made shopping easier. I could easily have driven from store to store and not find it, dragging dear hubby to help with the search. He said to pay the shipping and save him some dignity!! |

| I got a sample of this in the mail a few weeks back but have been too afraid to use and forgot about it until now... I'm really afraid it will make me break out, but I think I'll try it one of these days because its so hot and humid here I get so greasy icky.... *crossing fingers it doesn't cause breakouts* |

Wow! Well I'd never thought of that. I use TM primer. I was kind of against buying it as I have a less is more philosophy and am against buying ridiculous made up products..but it is brilliant and is lasting a long time.
I read a funny thing in some womens magazine at the doctors recently. It was interviewing men asking what put them off about women they'd been with. one ma said the first time (to be his last time) he went to his GF's house, she had a tube of feminine itching cream on her bedside table and he never saw her again. Poor girl is probably wandering why she's never heard of him, doesn't realise it was just her make up primer |

haha! Wondering now if I should hide my "butt paste" Only one bathroom in my house and I have some pretty interesting stuff in there LOL.
my only concern with the monistat is the "silica"...may be too drying if I use it all the time. And I can imagine some skin would find it irritating. Nothing my oily skin dislikes more than something too drying, freaks it out! I used it 4 out of seven days this week w/o a problem. Hopefully moderation will win. I will definitely be posting if I have a reaction:) Keeping my fingers crossed.

My Trish McEvoy primer didn't cost a fortune (well it probably did but I've conveniently forgotten about it) but it is lasting a long time.
Think I'll stick with it rather than trading in for some Monistat.. |

| I am acne prone and use the chafing gel over my sunscreen to cut the shine down. It does not make me break out. If you look at your other products, including your sunscreen, you may discover that these are common ingredients already in stuff you are using. |
