Hi Everyone
I've just returned from a visit to my (very helpful) GP with a prescription for tazorac. I wasn't sure if it existed in the UK but am pleased to find out that is does. I'm hoping it will help diminish my blackheads and whiteheads. My active outbreaks are becoming less due to a combination of oral antibiotics, yasmin (contraceptive pill) and Jan Marini products. I would be grateful for information on incorporating the tazorac into my JM routine. I use the JM cleanser, bioclear cream, bp5% and skin Ceuticals spf. I got a bit carried away when I started JM and my skin was quite red and flaky so I now only use the bp a couple of times a week and I use the bioclear at night only. TIA! |

I haven't graduated to using tazorac yet, but I am using .1 retin-a. I'm currently using JM bioglycolic cleanser & bioclear cream. I talked w/a JM rep as to where to incorporate the retin-a & she said to apply it after cleansing, then use c-esta (if you use it), then bioclear, then moisturizer. How do you find the bp gel? Although it was drying, did it clear/keep your acne at bay? I'm trying to decide b/w the bp gel or acne gel. |

Hi Rachael,
I would start out using Tazorac every two nights and gradually work up to every other night (and then every night if you skin does okay). I myself apply Tazorac about 10-15 minutes after I apply all of my treatments, serums, etc. I don't want the Taz to lessen the absorption. I've also heard of a few others applying Taz BEFORE their other skin care products too. Do what works for you.
Also, you might find that you will need to really minimize if not eliminate your BP product. It depends upon how sensitive your skin is. I used to use Benzaclin in the AM (and Taz at night) but found that I had to eliminate the Benzaclin b/c it was just way too irritating to my skin. And after a year, my skin is fine if not better without it. |
