mommy, are you referring to crystal deodorants? If so, I started using this in January and since it's not an antiperspirant it won't stop you sweating, but it seems to reduce the odor. Now that summer is here I'll be able to see how it holds up... or else I'll run screaming to the drugstore to pick up an antiperspirant to use during the dog days of summer! Very Happy

no the liquid crystals like the ones SAS sells. Sorry I don't know the technical name for it.

They are cholesterol esters. Please don't waste your money on it (unfortunately I did!). The SAS sycophants r-a-v-e about it and claim that the product gives them luminous undereyes! Well, Not So! I have a whole jar and they do zip all for undereye brightening/shadows as far as I can see. The product is also very sticky and does not absorb well.

On the lips, well they can be nice and glossy and light-reflective - until you have a drink or something to eat or press your lips together too often, then it's off and you have to re-apply again.

As a DIY product it is not cheap, so I simply wouldn't bother.

wow, thanks for telling me. Yes they do all make it sound like it is some sort of magic stuff and I have been dreaming of it for months.

Perfectly agreeing with you nyonyakai on the liquid crystals. I have the jar unused in the fridge for over a year now, and nothing that I would really want to use it for.

I have to say I love the liquid crystals. I only use it on my lips. It's just a pretty gloss that I feel is probably good for my lips, but it's definitely overpriced. I would love to find it elsewhere for cheaper if anyone has sources. Otherwise, I'm wondering how I can make it myself. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jorena

i also found the liquid crystals way to thick for use around the eyes..except for when i go skiing...where the air is cold & dry.

i also found it to be a bit to goopy for my taste on the lips. did leave a nice sheen though...
