I've bought some new shoes (ballet style flats) and after some initial shopping to break them in, I have a few blisters on my heels
Any tips on helping them heal? I've accidentally popped them, releasing the fluids, so they now hurt. I've applied some polysporin to prevent infection, but any other suggestions?
I've bought some moleskin to line the heels, hopefully this will prevent future blisters from developing! |

Hi HannaLee,
I find that applying some sort of "primer" to the areas that rub beforehand works wonders. Band Aid has something called Blister Block. In a pinch, I use the ole Monistat! HTH.

Monistat? Really? Boy, you learn something new every day. My DH has blisters right now from a new pair of sandals so I'm wondering if I would be able to convince him to try that. |

Use #786 for Monistat! It works just as well for me.
Of course, for the machos, there's Bodyglide:

I usually just put a little anti-bacterial cream on the affected area and cover with a band aid for a few days. They usually heal pretty quickly that way. The important thing is to make sure they are covered up and not rubbing against anything else, so they don't keep getting "re-opened". |

My suggestions are for prevention. For already there blisters, wear flip-flops if possible (unless of course the blister is in-between the first and second toe) and yes, add anti-bacterial stuff and band-aids.
I hate blisters... I just have to look at new shoes and BOM! |

The only thing I found really help is band-aid, avoid any further friction if you can. |
