After listening to a few requests in a previous thread I made I did a search over the internet to find products with Copper Peptides and Retin-A.
I ve found many sites with many products with Retin-A and Copper peptides but I also found sites that warned about bad quality products that may even harm.
For example Retinoic acid is very dangerous sometimes and may even cause cancerous cells,or irritate the skin. Also some products dont have the right amount or the right Viatmin A to have the expected results.Prescripted Retin-A seems to be the best way to go.
Also on Copper Peptides there is this site http://www.skinbiology.com/comparingcopperpeptides.html
According to it not all Copper Peptides do good and only Copper Peptide products from ProCyte Corporation and Skin Biology have passed intensive and adequate safety testing and are guaranteeing to work.
What do you do to trust/choose the right product?? |

Ragnarok,
It is true that there are many formulations out there; some with fabulous sounding ingredients. And yes, some of them may not have sufficient quantities of particular ingredients (or be at the right pH level) to do anything. For me choosing a product has usually been trial & error although over the last few years I got a bit smarter and started always checking for user reviews before trying something new. I also like to read magazines like SPC to get some less biased inside-industry info.

Aside from retin a & copper peptides, I would also suggest extreme caution with hydroquinone (even 1%), mercury, & steroids in products. Some people are also allergic to alcohol-based or parabens in products. Well I guess, u must always look closely at the label & contact the manufacturer about ingredients before usage |

I don't see why wheat germ would be bad for the skin. It contains vitamin E which is a good antioxidant. The only consideration is whether it clogs pores - wheat germ oil apparently has a high probability of clogging pores (http://www.soapnuts.com/noncomo.html).
Can someone "in the know" deny/confirm this? |
