-What is the best course to take? It looks like there are plenty out there online.
-Did you take an online course or a Brick&Mortar classroom course?
-How did you find a job? Did the course help you or did you have to search for yourself?
Please let me know your experiences, and how you like your job.
Thanks! |

I took a couple of online courses. I definitely recommend Andrews School. They will really prepare you for a job. It's not a cheap investment though, and it's intense. But most transcription companies are aware of the caliber of students who graduate from there, and you will receive job offers if you are an Andrews graduate. Usually companies require 2-3 years experience, but I easily got 3 offers immediately after graduating with no prior experience.
I've been doing MT for about 3 years now. I work for OSI, one of the medium sized nationals. I love the company. It's great for me as I have school aged kids and the schedule alows me flexibilty. Also no commuting, no having to get dressed up. The down side is it is a solitary type of environment. If you need human contact on a daily basis while you work, this is not the job for you. Also, it is usually piece work. You have to produce to make money. But speed comes with experience.
