| If making the vitamin c serum with glycerine - is there a way to stop the stickiness? add more water? |

| Use propylene glycol instead of glycerine. 8-) I just read the recipe for C serum in the recipe section here. |

Thank you for recommending the propylene glycol.
Does anyone know if you can add the ascobic acid and distilled water to a carrier oil? |

You can only do that successfully if you include an emulsifier to the oil and water mix you are contemplating.
Examples of some DIY emulsifiers are lecithin, polysorbates (20, 60, 65, 80), glyceryl cocoate, emulsifying wax NF, etc. etc. etc.
With L-Ascorbic Acid, I recommend you stick with the cold process emulsifiers i.e. the Polysorbates and glyceryl cocoate.
But I am sure the very many EDS bright sparks can think of many many more emulsifiers for you. |

Oh my goodness gracious me.
All emulsions are naturally cloudy (think mayonnaise, and early science experiments in high school). It does not in anyway detract from the activity of your potion.
You cannot join oil and water together and achieve a clear potion, unless you buy and add another chemical specifically for the purpose of clarifying the potion. This chemical will add nothing in terms of activity.
If potion clarity is of critical aesthetic importance to you, then don't go to the trouble of creating emulsions. Layer the carrier oil over your ascorbic acid solution. |

Thank you so much for "clearing" this up for me. 
I have used the "cloudy" version for two days and all seems okay!
I am a beginner and trying my best to feel my way through....

Don't mention it! BTW lecithin was actually a very good choice - while it doesn't make "pretty-looking" emulsions in and of itself, it adds great moisturising activity to your potion - plumps up your skin cell membranes or so I am told.
I always use lecithin in my emulsion potions, mixed with other emulsifiers such as a Polysorbate, or Emulsifying Wax NF, more for its moisturising activity than anything else. |
