I'm looking for a powder sunscreen that i can reapply during the day on top of my makeup.
I'm asian, 25, with extremely sensitive skin, i'm allergic to sun/light. i use a 45 spf sunscreen everyday in the morning under my makeup, but i still learnt from my last dermatologist appt that i have some new sun spots / melasma... i know asian tend to get hyperpigmentation but i thought only pregnant / new moms who will have melasma...
has anyone tried colorescience powder sunscreen (green tube)? |

Active Ingredients: Titanium Dioxide (12%), Zinc Oxide (12%)

I've tried and still use the powder, but I haven't tried the Rock and Roller Ball, not sure if there's even any difference.
I love the powder. I buy the refill and transfer it into a cometic tin with sifter so I can use my own brush and puff.
It really does go on clear for me, I don't notice any color or chalkiness, but I'm really pale.
I love this for use during the day. It's always being said that sunscreen needs to be reapplied, but how's it possible to put a liquid sunscreen on top of a made-up face? So this works very well for me.
I don't know that I would wear this all by itself though. I haven't tried so I can't say how much protection it offers. I wear regular sunscreen, mineral foundation, and this on top. Between all three I've been well protected. |

Apart from Colorescience, ISC makes one which you can get on EDS. However, there was a review on it ages ago that said the packaging is horrible and it's hard to get the powder on to the brush. But that's another alternative anyways. |

Doesn't the IS Clinical one contains bismuth oxychloride? |

the peter thomas roth one does not have bismuth, and my only complaint about it is that it's not very economical because you lose a lot through the built in brush design -- but I bought it for convenience, and it is convenient over makeup. doesn't look chalky or powdery.
oh, also a lot cheaper than the colorscience. |

Colorescience Sunfortabble is very nice and the packaging is better than ISC's. |

I purchased Colorscience's Sunforgetables SPF 30 from EDS. In the future, I would purchase one that is colored to match my skin because the clear/white that EDS sells shows on the skin and looks bad. |

I tried it for a period.
But it breaks me out
Somebody on EDS claimed it was because of the bismuth oxychloride.
I don't know.......but I'm not using it anymore. Now I use Shiseido Sun Protection Compact Foundation SP 30 in the afternoon on top of my make up, when I have to go out in the sun.
It's quite nice, you'd better apply it with a little bit wet sponge otherwise it accentuates fine lines. |

I recommend the Shiseido Sun Compact also, but always carry around the PTR in a tube for touch ups, it's the best! Reading this I might try the colorscience one though. |

I must say, I love that PTR. So easy and so portable and even if the brush system isn't perfect, I'm OK with it - and I like the ingredient list better than the Colorescience and IS Clinical. It's definitely my new touch-up-on-the-go sunscreen, so glad I found it! |

Hi, Jouke. Applying with a wet sponge might disturb your makeup. But you can get the same effect of wet-sponge without accentuating fine lines by applying powder with a brush then misting the face with a hydrosol.

Thanks Jeannine, I'll try that. Do you think mineral water in a spray will do? |
