I am on the hunt for a great product to reduce and completely remove my acne scars (discoloration/pitting). I've kept up with reviews, but would like to know, over time, if you have improved and if you are satisfied. I am happy to say that my ance is FINALLY in check thanks to you all and now I need guidance in removing the scars!

mama lotion seems to have reduced my scarring a little bit. i've only been using it for about 3 months, hopefully it will keep on working. i've also read people have had amazing results with Silkia/epidermx from goldportbeauty. i'm going to order it in a few weeks and try it in the mornings and my mama lotion at night.

I'm currently using the Obagi Nu-derm line. I've heard that it helps w/acne scars...but that wasn't what I was using it for. Good luck!

I'm in the same boat, my acne has cleared & I'm just dealing with the residual scars. I'm so paranoid to add anything to my regime that will cause another breakout though. I've been using epidermx II & chyrysalx to help with the scars. (along w/JMs bioglycolic cleanser & bioclear, vit c & retin-a). I've stuck w/Naturderm products b/c they don't break me out. I think that the manual exfoliation is definitely helping. Not so sure if the chrysalyx is helping or not, but too scared to try anything new. I did also add pearl powder to the chrysalx as I read that not only does the pearl help with acne, but it also gradually lightens skin over time. I just pump 4 times into my sephora sample pot & then add the pearl powder. It's enough for about a week. Wasn't sure if adding the pearl would spoil the cream, so only make a week's worth at a time.

Yes, Epidermx definitely helps with blemishes left from spots.

For more pronounced and/or pitted scars, you might like to look into using copper peptides, which can be particularly effective. There are lots of good threads on it, particularly those by Scallawaggirl.

I've been using Naturderm products for months and I am still beyond thrilled with the results. I use the whole Naturderm line (Lavender Face Foam, EII, Chrysalyx, and Naturdermx), and it has made SUCH a difference! Before I had to spend hours putting a mask of makeup on to cover all my red marks and scars. Now, a light dusting of powder and I'm out the door. My skin is pretty clear now, although every now and then I will get one or two isolated blemishes. Thanks to the Naturderm products, though, the red mark from the blemish is gone within days. Pits definitely take longer to heal (I only have one pitted scar left, but it's about 1/4 of the size it was when I started the Naturderm products), but the Naturderm stuff DOES help in my experience. HTH!

Strong CP's are effective, but can be irritating even if spot-applied. I've used the strongest CP (from Skin Biology) on spots with slight success, but I've also experienced irritation.

TCA-CROSS, maybe a 15% TCA just on the scars to a single frost is supposed to be great, but, I would think it depends on your skill in applying it and also the way your skin heals. (I have the acid but I'm chicken to try it out.)

You may want to look at using a dermaroller. The consumer model may help some but there is a medical model made especially for acne scars. There are positive posts on it on acne message boards. Search for dermaroller here at EDS Forums to find more info.

I have also been using Obagi since January, so about 5 months. I started it due to moderate/severe acne scarring. I have seen about an 80% reduction in the scarring. I don't even have to wear make-up anymore. It truly is the best thing I ever did for my skin. Not only did it reduce the acne scars, but STOPPED my acne. I haven't had a break-out in months. I would only get a pimple maybe two around my period, and they would last two or three days at the most. After suffering from severe hormonal acne for over 10 years this product was a miracle for me.

I am currently starting on a regime of PCA (Professional's Choice) peels through my skin care clinic to deal with the other 20% that are just too deep for the Obagi (although Obagi has smoothed them out a bit).

Acne, scars, anti-aging benefits. A miracle, you can buy a trial kit on EDS, but you have to get the tretinoin from your doctor - check outwww.obagi.com too.

Hi Diva! Here's my routine:

AM:
Wash face with Zenbiotic Rinseless Cleanser
Best Bath Store Toner
Finacea (Prescription)
Moisten face with Caudalie Grape water, sometimes Clearskin RX liquid organic acne treatment
Chrysalyx

PM:
Wash face with Naturderm Triple Lavender Face Foam (I leave it on my face for a few minutes to let those enzymes do their job!^-^)
Best Bath Store Toner
Tazorac (prescription)
Moisten Face with Caudalie Grape Water or Clearskin RX
Chrysalyx
Naturdermx

They are really fabulous products! HTH!!

I've used SKII miracle water with pitera, and it really really works. The result is almost instantaneous, within 1 week there is a clear difference. It's a bit costly compared to some of the other products but every person that I personally know who has also used it has nothing but good things to say about it.

im still in search for a product to fade my acne scars.

i have used the epidermxII microdermabrasion cream but i didnt see a huge improvement, it did make my skin a tad bit smoother but the scars were still the same, so i gave up after finishing the tub...but hmm, i dont know, if i still cant find anything to lighten the scars then i might go back to it for a second time to see whether incorporating it to my new regime will be any good

The best results I've had were through TCA peels.

The recovery was 'scary' but worth it. My skin detoxed too which went a long way to helping control break outs. There wasn't anything to break out later as all my pores revolted during the healing process.

I wish I could do another one, but my insurance won't cover it here. I'm too chicken to chance it at home even given the results.

The TCA peels made a lasting and dramatic difference for my scars. I've had two TCA peels and can now hide my scars with products like Pure Lux eraser. Still not ideal, but I couldn't to that before. My face seemed softer and scars less well....pitted. I'm happy with the results and if you have deep scars that would be the way to go in my opinion. Splurge and get the peel. It is SO worth it (if done correctly).

Best of luck!!!

I think results from any products are relative. If there's a lot to be improved, the result may seem less noticable as a whole. Honestly, I don't think Epidermx II can provide a HUGE improvement, so to speak. I think the result is cumulative and if you have a lot of scars, you're gonna need to use more than a tub to "see" improvement. My boyfriend has been using it and his skin seems much clearer with less breakout. Maybe you just need to be more patient and stick with a product for longer rather than switching to new products so often?

I've tried so many products to get rid of the red marks after breakouts. Even when my skin is clear I have discoloured areas, but recently I've been using Candessence Magic Mask and it's really helped. It's much more effective for me than the Juice Beauty Apple Peel and Epidermx. The red marks are still there but they have greatly reduced.

I don't suffer from breakouts ever, but I've been battling dehydrated sensitive dry skin for a long time. I used to just give up if I didn't see any results within a week, or if a product irritated my skin upon first use (even a slightest bit). But I've learned to be patient and have seen improvements on my skin over time. Trust me, it's really worth the wait!

hey arent u lucky ur skin never breaks out...its the most annoying, confidence shattering thing ever, that no amount of makeup can conceal!

thanks tho, cos i really need to stay committed to a product, for the sake of my skin and my purse... and also my parents are complaining that im spending WAY too much money and theyr sick and tired of getting up early to sign for my parcels

Obagi did not work, microdermbrasion did not work, but interested in trying the TCA peels. Did you do DIY or go to a derm doctor?

Hi Liz Smile

I must have missed something in this forum... you've been using Naturderm products for months? So are you not using the ZB foundation pack anymore? Are Naturderm products working better for you?

I was wondering about the level of results people have gotten from these products. My dermatologist said that there was nothing I could do about scarring. That was about a year ago, though. Maybe things have changed or he meant from a medical perspective?

Aven Retrinal (0.025%) has worked well for me, getting rid of my acne scars over the course of the 4-5 months I've been using it. I like that there are 3 strengths -- the lowest has been working well for me (I have sensitive skin), but I plan to eventually move up to the next level.
