I use Jason's Biotin shampoo, made from no chemicals, just natural additives. But the only problem is that my hair gets tangled due to no chemicals. How can I go about untangling it the easiest way without using oils or hair brushes (they hurt sometime). Do you ladies have some tips and tricks I recently grew out my hair so I will be needing some tips.
Thanks! |

Do you use conditioner at all. I never had a problem unless I skipped conditioner. |

Do you condition your hair? I have those shower combs.. during conditioning, I would use the shower comb and then comb through my hair. It's really easy. |

Agree with Lisey, comb out your hair in the shower while conditioning. I keep combing through whilst rinsing the conditioner out as well. Then don't twist it up when you get out, carefully blot it so it doesn't tangle back up. |

I am not sure if you are using all natural because you prefer those products, or you have allergies to certain chemicals.
If you just prefer all natural, why not use the companion conditioner to the shampoo???
If you have allergies to something in the conditioners (natural, or not), have you considered a weekly Mayonnaise mask, provided you are not allergic to eggs or oil.
You put it on dry hair and comb it through. Leave it in your hair for 15 minutes (you can put on a shower cap over top for deep conditioning). Then wash it out. It leaves your hair very soft, and tangle free.
Also brushing your hair well to get out all the tangles before shampooing helps, as well as washing gently. |

If your hair is really long make sure you use a good quality sawn wide tooth comb as well. Start at the bottom and work your way upwards slowly if you really can't use conditioner. |

My daughter takes swimming lessons every week, her hair has been damaged by chlorine and got tangled every time after washing. I rub one drop of camellia oil to her hair while her hair is still wet. It detangles her hair right away. She loves the camellia oil!!
Trust me, it is not greasy at all. It is the most simplest and natural way of conditioning. |

are we meant to comb wet hair? cos i read in a mag a few months ago, a hairdresser said that combing wet hair breaks the hair .
i havent really tested it out to see whether thats true, but i always use conditioner after shampoo no matter what cos hair just feels smoother |

I always comb my hair when it's wet, since I have such curly hair I can't brush it when it's dry. If you're careful and use a wide toothed comb then you don't do as much damage. |

I know you aren't supposed to brush wet hair. I do though ![Embarassed](images/smiles/redface.gif) |

Definitely use a conditioner, but also make sure that your hair is tangle free before you get in the shower and then be gentle when are shampooing. Don't tangle your roots all around just to get a good scrub- you can do it gently too. |

always use a conditioner. not only does it help with the tangling, it brings the hair back down to its natural pH, which is altered when shampooing.
and combing with a wide tooth comb is better than a brush or a fine tooth comb. you lose much less hair. i can't even imagine what my hair would look like without any combing whatsoever after washing!! ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |

i gotta admit, sometimes i dont brush my hair after washing!
i dry it really quickly then thats it! although i should get into the habit of brushing cos it massages the scalp and helps hair growth |

Sorry guys, I was very busy and just got time to check this now. Wow, what wonderful comments. I appreciate the advice.
I do not use conditioner, but I should start doing so Or, perhaps use a natural oil after washing like jojoba.
Thank you all for the advice, I read it all!
I like the idea also, about brushing before showering, then showering and shampooing lightly and gently, that may work too. |

I spray in a Detangling, leave in conditioner after hair washing. the product is from Grund. SMOOTH. It works great, doesn't feel greasy or make your hair flat. Gives a little body and you can comb it when wet without knots. |

Do you have Trader Joe's near you? If you got TJ's near you, you should try their Nourish Spa Conditioner! My husband loves it and so does my brother! It's really nice. I think it's around $2.50 for 16 oz and has no chemicals at all. The shampoo is also great too. |

I find I don't have to use brush to comb through the wet hair, just use my fingers to detangle and I always waited my hair at least 50% dry before I comb it. |

well i have very long hair, so not combing it after i wash is really not an option for me. lol. it would be a tangled mess!! when i had shorter hair, then i probably would have been able to to go without combing it if i used a good conditioner. |

My hair tangles very easily in the shower, no matter how conditioning the conditioner is that I apply in the shower. I don't comb my hair until I've gently finger-combed a leave-in into my hair, so that I can work out the tangles as needed. Then a comb goes through my hair pretty easily after that. |

I use a leave-in conditioner, per my hairdresser's request. My hair is usually quite limp, I've noticed a change since I swtiched - definitely not as limp and I can style it much easier now. |

i perm my hair late last year and i notice that at times when i used the hair products to hold the curl, it can really make my hair *hard* and tangle up. what i do is that i use conditional first follow by shampoo. this can help to detangle my hair and at the same time minimize hair loss during hair wash. ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |

Ojon revitalizing mist is magic for detangling both my sons uber curly (imagine natural dreads) and my daughters ultra fine super straight hair.
We have also had very good results with mixing distilled water with light oils (watermelon seed, camilla)...just shake before using to mix and work from the ends up using a wide tooth comb. ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |
