I live in the South West and it is mighty hot out here. Want to know because I have acne prone (but clear since March), that is oily--how many times should I wash my face? I have been cleansing in the AM and PM like usual but would like to wash mid-day. Is this bad for you? Do I have to reapply all of the products again (AHA/BHA toner, pearl cream, pearl powder, serums, etc)???? |

I have heard twice a day is enough...but I always wash before I work out and after when I head to the gym. I can't stand makeup on my face. It always amazes me the women that put ON makeup before they hit the gym floor. Do they realize they look horrendous when they sweat it off?!?!?
If you use BHA/AHA the exfoliation process only lasts about 20 to 30 minutes so reapplying mid-day might be overkill...especially if you already use it twice a day.
I too live in the Southwest (UGH! It's 107 today!) and sometimes I get so sweaty just driving (200 degree car will do that to ya) I'll jump in the shower again.
If I'm going back out (such as for a night on the town) I'll reapply my pearl cream as I love it as a base for makeup but not my serums or anything. I only use those twice a day. |

I wash my face twice a day.. however if my face gets oily throughout the day, I'd wash it again, so sometimes 3 times a day. I think it's okay to wash when necessary.. |

If you feel oily during the day, instead of wash face or put on more powder, you can use oil blotting paper. That it absorbs away the excess oil and leave your face Matty. |

I wash twice daily too and feel good enough...well, right, if it gets too oily, oil blotting paper shall be good. But if you have to work outdoor or get out of office to work, perhaps 1 more time in the middle of day shall be better. |

Basically i wash twice a day, morning and before the bath. But if i have gone out, i wash after i back home. Since i need to remove the make-up or sunblock, mostly i have washed 3 times. ![Cool](images/smiles/cool.gif) |

I normally wash my face morning and evening but sometimes if it's been really hot I'll wash it after being in the sun to get the sunscreen and extra oil off. |

You should wash only twice a day. And if you are acne prone then u must stick to this because washing your face more often aggravates the acne.
Use face tissues for wiping gently your during mid day. |

Is twice a day even necessary? What about once a day? |

Definitely twice a day will be enough. The more u cleanse ur face, the more oil u will have...
Morning: Cleansing Foam or Oil or whatever suitable for your skin
Night Time: Make-up Remover (if applicable) + Cleanser |

I wash two - three times a day. I like to wash off my sunscreen when I get home from work. I realize I might be washing my face too often, so when it feels dry I use a cotton pad with toner to remove the sunscreen. Maybe using a toner might work to 'refresh' your face in hot weather? |

I wash twice a day or three times if I'm going out at night. Oil blotting papers aren't enough (Clean and Clear or Bosch are the best ones though)
I told my dermotologist this and he said that was fine. I have acne but am very oily so I don't need to worry about dryness. |

The fear is over-washing can cause oily skin because the skin ends up producing more oil to compensate for the lost of oil during washing. Does this make sense? ![Embarassed](images/smiles/redface.gif) |

I think it really depends on where and what climate you live. I am in the UK and twice a day in enough for me but when I am on holiday in the heat and humidity I do want to wash my face more as it fells hot, clammy and produces more oil, also I have to wear sunscreen which makes my face feel oilier and I like to wash off the old before I reapply. |

I wash twice a day. it's too much to wash your face more than twice a day. If your skin feel oily just absorb it with paper for face. |

My dermo recommends washing oily/acne-prone skin 3X a day with a very gentle cleanser (Cetaphil/Dove unscented/etc.) He thinks you should get the ss/makeup/microbes/pollutants off your skin after work. No treatments were recommended after the post-work cleansing. I tried to follow his advice, but with family and pet obligations (very bad dogs) I was always forgetting until a few hours before bed.
His other commandment is no hands on your face which includes even well-controlled extractions. I can't seem to obey that one either. I'm as bad a patient as I am a dog trainer! |
