I usually wax my eyebrows, but thankfully thought to ask the med spa where I got it whether it was ok or not to continue waxing my brows. They said they would NOT recommend it...since some of the Obagi products may have gotten in my brow area, and would have been applied very close to the brow area on the sides. There is a risk that the wax could pull the skin off!!! Yikes
So, I tried plucking...but didn't keep up very well...so my brows were looking a bit manly. I'd heard about threading...and found a place in my area that did it. VERY nice results! My brow area wasn't all red like it is w/waxing and wasn't sensitive to the touch. I'm a big baby...so yes, it was a bit painful (mainly because I had so much territory to cover, since my brows had grown wild!)
One thing I'd noticed w/Obagi was that it looked like I was getting excess facial hair. What I realized (after seeing a freckle on my face that I hadn't seen in years!) was that all the old, dead skin was coming off...so the hairs were more noticeable. Seems to be better now...except for my mustache. Frightening! Luckily I'm blonde...but next time I think I might have them take that off too (after Advil and some desensitizing gel...they said it was much more painful than brown area). |

Thank you for bringing this to the attention of others. You're right: waxing is a BIG no-no when using such products, especially the retinol/tretinoin.
P.S. As a fellow blonde, know that I hate having any fuzz on my upper lip too. |

Any facial treatment that peels the skin like AHA's and Retin A (Renova) leave the skin too fragile to wax. I had a friend who waxed their upper lip while using Renova and ended up ripping the skin. |
