Hi everyone! I'm newb-never posted but I have been reading for awhile. I'm hoping that I'm posting this in the right place as I see a lot of these types of questions in diy for some reason.
I am wanting to know if adding the AlphaHydrox Souffle (or the gel) to my routine will help with stubbornly clogged pores. I have olive combo skin that is plagued with blackheads.
Currently I'm doing OCM most of the time, (but sometimes I use a gentle cleanser like Aquanil). ACV toner, a 2%BHA once or twice a day, and an aspirin mask about 3 times a week. Also sometimes I will use LRP's Toleraine fluid if I need extra moisture at night. I have seen tremendous improvements with this routine, but those blackheads just won't go away. I'm worried about "too much" exfoliation, but I do WANT results lol. I've been seriously thinking about trying my AmLactin(lol), as a lot of people have said it's great for use on the face. If anyone has any suggestions or info, it's greatly appreciated |

I have always liked BHA for blackheads. I have never tried AHA but if you alternated BHA with AHA it might help? I also found that after a while 2% BHA wasn't enough and had to look for a stronger BHA product. That helped too.
Good luck. |

It probably depends on how your skin reacts to chemical exfoliation. Sounds like your routine contains A LOT of acids which can be very drying/dehydrating to skin. I just posted on another thread http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=304752#304752 about my skin and glycolic acid.
You may want to alternate acids with manual exfoliation like using a microfiber/microdermabrasion cloth or Clarisonic Skin Brush. |

Thanks for the input! I do think it's possible that my skin is getting more "dried out", as I am noticing a little bit of the lines like the thread you linked me to. But... my blackheads have been improving. Can I have my cake and eat it too? lol
Two days ago I have started hyaluronic acid supplements and have noticed my lips aren't as "crusty" lol. So hopefully it will be helping with my skin too
Thanks Lunarmm |
