I'm looking for a nice shampoo (normal, thin hair, frequent use)that smells like grapefruit , mandarin...anything in the fruity citusy smell. I would like my hair to smell like my perfume because right now the mix is...Beurk !
Any suggestion ??? Thanks ! |

Hi Katya! Not sure which formulation will benefit your hair type most, but I'll list a few I can think of along with their descriptions:
-Burt's Bees Super Shiny Grapefruit and Sugar Beet Shampoo: this is a natural, SLS-free, paraben-free shampoo with a yummy, (obviously) grapefruit scent. It produces less foamy lather than many brands, but it cleans well and is much gentler than many other shampoos. It has a matching conditioner that I've never tried.
-Avalon Organics Lemon Clarifying Shampoo: This is also sulfate free and paraben free, but I find it to be much more stripping/drying than other natural shampoos (much more so than Burt's). Still, this can be a good thing if you want to use it as a buildup-remover (which is what I use it for), or if you have very oily hair. It has a matching conditioner that I don't think too highly of, but it might do better things for your hair than mine!
-Trader Joe's Refresh Citrus Shampoo (or something like that): Not sure if you have Trader Joe's in your area, as I seem to recall from another thread that you're in Canada? But just in case, they used to have a yummy grapefruit-scented shampoo - I believe it was SLS free but did contain parabens, so I discontinued using it a while ago. I recall it being deliciously scented (the most so of all these options), and sort of in-between the above two shampoos as far as how sudsing/cleansing it was. I think this one might've also had a conditioner, but I never tried it.
I'm sure there are many more, these are just the few that come to mind. Hope this helps! |

I have tried the DS Laboratories shampoo which is for thinning hair and although I don't have thinning hair, I tried it as I thought it would be good on my scalp. I really like the shampoo and it has the most wonderful citrus smell, just like mandarins. Also leaves the hair lovely and soft and my scalp is in better condition. I will do a review when I have used it a bit longer. EDS sells this product. |

The Natura Organics Fortifying shampoo I'm currently using has a gorgeous buttery lemon and sage scent. It's recommended for dry/damaged hair. |
