Hi there. I was wondering if you can mix effectively 30% Glycolic Acid and 5% Salicylic Acid and then use 1 time a week? Would this be something good or do they both counteract each other and reduce their effectiveness?
Thanks

May I ask why do you want to use 30% strength? It sounds too high for at home use. For that strength its better to be done under your derm's supervision. |

I've been using 30% for long time no problems. Very good results. There was 10%, 30% and 50%. I just use 30% once a week for a few minutes then wash off with bicarbonate soda for 6 weeks then take few weeks break and repeat.

Oh I guess you must have more resistant skin which is good - I wish I had a tougher skin. BHA and AHA can definitely co-exist. A lot of products on the market contain both. But I don't know how often you should be using them though. I guess it really come down to your skin tolerance level. |

30% Glycolic Acid and 5% Salicylic Acid is a bit too strong. |

I just tried NCN Pro Pumpkin peel, which contains 30% glycolic acid. I must have rhinocerous skin, left it on for 15 minutes no problem. Skin felt unbelievably smooth and soft afterwards.
Just checked the ingredients and it also contains SA, but I don't know the percentage.
I'd have to say that if your skin is fairly thick, this high percentage of Glycolic acid can be very beneficial! |
