Hi everyone. A few days ago , I pinched the skin under my eye with my (tweezerman) eyelash curler........ now I notice alot of wrinkles in that area (under the inner eye)! I'm positive they weren't there before . I feel helpless. Does anyone have any ideas? Does anyone have experience with this?
Thanks in advance!!!! |

No, I have never pinched my eyelids with a tweezer before, but I did rub them a lot because they were itchy, and the constant rubbing caused the eyelids to be wrinkled. I haven't found a cure for it. |

Do not worry Andrea as wrinkles do not come that quickly the skin is very fine there as has just been pinched so just leave it alone. I once had a blackhead proberly from using too much eye cream and when it was extracted the area looked pretty distorted for a few days but was okay in the end. |

Yes, I would just wait and let your skin settle down. Maybe avoid curling eyelashes/tweezing eyebrows for a few days so you're not pulling your skin in that area. |

Thanks so much for your replies and your concern- it means alot in this case! I am going to leave it alone- but I can't promise not to stare at it though because of my BDD - although my botfriend has hidden the mirror from me for today.....
But I'm wondering-- would it be a good idea to make an MSM cream and put on it- or
would hyaluronic acid or dmae be better? |

i don't know if those would be good for you. i'd personally say to use what you know is soothing/moisturizing and your undereye skin can tolerate. for me, that would be rosehip seed oil. just a small amount smooths fine lines for me. maybe it'd work for you? but it can be clogging for acne-prone skin. i find i don't get bumps if i don't use too much.
by the way, i understand your fear of the small lines. i seem to get lines or damage from the most minor mishaps. so i try to do minimize the chances of that, too, if i can. the only thing is, it's tricky because if i try too hard i can make things worse while they weren't too bad to begin with. |

The only thing I'd put on it is emu oil. This stuff has been a lifesaver for me if my skin is stressed or irritated. I have used it with excellent results to subdue the redness and irritation I've suffered around the eye area from Renova and Tazorac use. I'd definitely stay away from the DMAE..I think it is way too active for skin around the eyes when it is at all irritated. I'd bet dollars to donuts that a good dose of emu oil will iron out your problem in no time!
(good for your mate for hiding the mirror!)

Thanks Pududdles and rubicon for the great advice.......... I'm afraid to use my eyelash curler again in case it happens again! It is a Tweezerman and works very well but it pinches sometimes!
Thanks again for the advice. |
