Hi all,

I've been using the Skin Biology's Super GHK Serum for 8 weeks now and I want to keep using it. I'd like to use another serum as well during the day. Is there a serum that any of you here have used and seen a difference in your skin? Something that helps with collagen production. I've used a vitamin C before, but I'm leary of using an l-ascorbic acid formulation. Thanks.

Is there a reason you are leary of vitamin c / l-ascorbic? I was going to highly recommend the SkinMedica Vitamin C (which has a couple forms of vitamin c in it). My skin is so much brighter & more resilient when I use this consistently and not to mention the extra sun protection vit c gives.

If no vit c, then I have used in the past and liked: Elysee Pycnogenol Serum, Dr. Denese Hydroshield and also good old Olay Regenerist Serum (fragrance free) which I actually still use.

And I am curious about the Ice Elements Edelweiss Serum which EDS carries, I haven't tried it but am interested to hear more about it if anyone has tried it!

I just realized that maybe the vitamin c issue is due to the fact that copper & vitamin c should not be used together (cancel each other out or cause oxidation or something like that not good). Anyway, if that's the case/concern, I have read many times on mua that the copper & vit c should be used at least 12 hours apart to avoid this problem. HTH!

skincarefreak,

I am also interested in the reason why you are leary of vitamin c / l-ascorbic.

At present I use Super CP's in the evening and a Vitamin C line in the morning. I have found as long as I space CP's and C I have a winning combo here.

i agree........I also use super cp's at night and vitamin c in the mornings. It works great for me!!!!!

I do use the PSF retinol a couple of nights a week instead of the super cp's.....just to shake things up a bit.

Crazy for Clooney and Winnie,

I'm leary of using an l-ascorbic because 3 years ago I used Skinceuticals which irritated my skin. I used the 10% and the 15%. It can be just the skinceuticals line, but it didn't agree with my skin.

I do understand where you are coming from. l-ascorbic can dehydrate my skin. At present I am using a Vit C with Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate. I quite like it: Janson Beckett's C&C. I do try other Vit. C products but find that C&C works best for me. Janson Beckett is not the only company that uses Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate. If interested do a seach on this form of Vit. C. Janson Beckett, DDF Skincare, Dr. Perricone (just to name a few).

"Magnesium ascorbyl phosphate is a water-soluble derivative of vitamin C rapidly gaining popularity in skin care. It is nonirritating and more stable than vitamin C. Most importantly, magnesium ascorbyl phosphate appears to have the same potential as vitamin C to boost skin collagen synthesis but is effective in significantly lower concentrations. Overall, magnesium ascorbyl phosphate appears to be a better choice than vitamin C for people with sensitive skin and those wishing to avoid any concomitant exfoliating effects. (Most vitamin C formulas are highly acidic and therefore produce exfoliation.)" - Smartskin.com

I am using AHA Anti Age Cream from aslaskin. All the ingredients are natural and your skin responds to them a lot quicker than other ‘well marketed ‘products that I have used.

CrazyForClooney, just wondering where you get the SkinMedica Vitamin C from? It seems to have a lot of devotees but I can't find it on teh EDS website.

One serum that I like which is free from vitamin c is the Trish McEvoy Beauty Booster Serum which contains peptides to firm, hyaluronic acid to moisturize and antioxidants to protect.
