I used the previous version and liked it. If this new one is good I'll be happy to try it |

I just want to bring this back up. It is in Sears and The Bay in Canada. I did not buy it and they dont have sample (or the SA did not want to give me one).
Anybody heard of this new serum ? |

I used to work for Lauder at That Bay Oakridge(over five years ago), and trust me, all: there is nothing special about Idealist.
The silicone-based formula fills in lines & pores. They contradict themselves for noting "non-acid technology", while also indicating "sugar-based". (hello? Sugar=glycolic!) They don't share the percentage of ingredients with "advisors", and if a customer asks, they must phone Lauder's customer service.
One is better off buying a more active anti-aging product, and a separate foundation primer, for what one pays for Idealist. For what you're paying for Lauder, please realize that part of the price funds their heavy, expensive ad. campaigns, Carolyn Murphy's contract, packaging, etc. Not necessarily "great" or effective product.
Kindly note: they will NOT give you sample of this, just for asking. Lauder only gives-out samples if you're making a significant purchase, with a media-related voucher, or during a "promotional event". This is so their advisors can use their "One to One" customer books, and call everyone to follow-up (hound) you. |

I totally agree with Caspers Mum. I used Fruition, then Fruition Extra some 10 years ago.
My skin was acne-free at that time, thanks to Fruition Extra, for it's exfoliation with AHA. I was then introduced to Idealist, their non-acid skin refinisher, as I was told that Fruition Extra would be discontinued. Then, came the disaster. My face was badly clogged, maybe I was too used to the exfoliation of Fruition Extra.
I then gave up on Estee Lauder products completely. I took me some time to clear the clogged pores.
I also agree with Caspers Mum that Idealist is a silicone-based formula which gives you a wrong impression that your skin is smooth, but once you wash it off, it's back to the usual state.
I was told by a friend who used to work for Estee Lauder that, a lot of users reported clogged pores after using Idealist. That's why they came out with Idealist Micro-D, as the self heating action was claimed to open the pores for deep cleansing, so as to prevent clogged pores with Idealist.
So, my advice is forget about Idealist. You might as well invest your money on other quality products. |

True. Just another way for Lauder to launch a new, overly-priced product! |
