I am interested in using Obagi NuDerm down the road. My question is, will you get less dramatic results if your skin is already acclimated to and using Retin-A regularly? I know Retin-A alone gives great results, and that Obagi uses the Retin-A, hydroquinone, and glycolic acid together for optimum results.
I ask because it seems like that would minimize a lot of the initial irritation and peeling which many people report.
So could you still get the same great results this way?
TIA! |

Actually, I never had the redding and peeling like most people. The only peeling per se was around the mouth and chin area, however, with proper moisturizer it helped with the dryness.
Why not do the maintenance version of Obagi which calls for using Retin A once or twice a week versus initial usage of Obagi (daily use of Retin-A? |

I am on week 8 of Obagi and my skin tolerates the Retin A 0.1% very well. I have had minimal peeling/flaking, mostly around the mouth and chin. I don't know if the results will be as dramatic as if I had never used Retin A before, but I'll let you know in about 11 weeks how it all turns out! Really, all you can do is try. |
