Is there a reason why breakouts are symmetrical?

I'm breaking out for no reason at the moment and have noticed that the acne are symetrical. This is not the first time either and so I cant help think that its not just pure coincidental.
RIght now, I have a few red marks on my cheeks, two cysts on my forehead, red marks on my forehead, pustules on my upper lip and red marks on my chin area...all of which are symmetrical Shock .

I was wondering if there's a theory or reason behind this?
And have you noticed this with your acne?

I've never noticed this with my breakouts. Usually I have one side worse than the other.

i've noticed that sometimes, i just pretend it's due to hormones more than just plain face touching.

yeahyeah, you are absolutely right! 70-80% of my zits are symmetrical! And I'm convinced it's hormonal.

Thank god I'm not the only one that seems to notice them! My parents have commented that my pimples are in a weird pattern all over my face Sad .

I want to think its hormonal but why do they pop up symetrically? To make them match?

This happens with me occasionally when i breakout. I tend to get mine in a diagonal line across my face

YES! When I was actively breaking out I would get them on my chin, perfectly mirroring each other. Ugh.
